Both still seem to be charging around the $250 mark (Canadian Dollars).

Yes, VG+ still have that price on their site but someone did mention earlier that their order price had been adjusted downwards. Also, other sites (e.g bestbuy.ca) have it at $200 CAD.

It isn't only that though. DVDBO will probably send it via DHL with the full value declared so I'll get a higher customs bill too.

I know, serves me right.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never had a customs bill from a DVDBO order - though, that said, I've never had one courier delivered (which seems to be included for free with a DS order).

I got a customs bill (DHL) from my DVDBO Donkey Konga order.

The gits 'upgraded' me to courier shipping without even asking

That is exactly what happened to me. Fuck it, I'm cancelling it. $50-$70 for shipping plus a probable large customs bill? I can wait.

I seem to remember the adress to cancel an order is cancel@dvdboxoffice.com - and it isn't easy to find on their site.

Just drop them an email with the order number and a request to cancel the item. They've always done this very quickly for me in the past.

Thanks, but this isn't the first cancellation by any means. They used to be bearable because of the free shipping, but lately the pain isn't worth it anymore. I mean, 5 weeks and they still can't send GTA:SA? And they don't know when they will have it?

I know none of this is new, so I will shut up now.

So the official price is lower than $250 CAD?

If I cancel now, will I get a big import postage charge if I order later? How does it work at VG+?

I think the RRP is $150 (US) and $200 (CAD).

DVDBO are likely to send it via DHL courier. When they sent me bongos that way, they marked the full price on it and I recently got a customs bill from DHL.

VG+ always (with me anyway) mark stuff down to avoid paying any duty.

I'm 6th Oct (6067).  Not heard yet.  Hopefully I'll be in the second batch.

more news for those that ordered later

Things are looking better daily our first shipment was very large and we already confirmned orders up to 6000 will be in our first shipments. We have more inventory in stock and we are still sending out confirmation emails which we be starting in the 6000 order range so you might be getting one soon if everything goes well. More product is coming in today and more everyday as our supply chains are coming through for us which we knew they would. So why is it $250 CAD on release? Are they just milking us? :o

Before I posted here I did mail them to check the price. This was their reply:

The price listed has been confirmed - please note that it does include DHL

courier at no additional cost.

We have been informed that Nintendo will be short supplying the DS across

North America.  We will of course do our best to fill all pre-orders based

on the supply we do receive from them.

Unfortunately, we cannot make estimations or guarantees.

I like the 'DHL courier at no additional cost' bit.

Can you feel the tugging on your teats yet?

This is obviously a lie. The "No extra cost" is a hidden cost isn't it?

I've checked else where and it's $170 in North America, which makes it $201 CAD!

Any signs of any tracking numbers or shipping progress ?

:D

calm down MikeF, have seen you on 3 forums looking for tracking numbers. You'll do yourself some harm.

:P

I didn't recieve my purchase receipt email until about 1am in the morning, so am thinking it will take them time to update their site and email tracking numbers.
