Ds Hardware/opinions

Both definite purchases for any DS owner IMO

Haven't played Band Brothers, but Chokkan Hitofude is fantastic. It's the puzzle mode that I've been playing the most- and although I stormed through it fairly easily (some stages are a pain), there's loads of extra puzzles available around the net to enter into your DS (with the touchscreen it takes seconds to enter a password). It could've done with a Chu Chu Rocket-rivalling 2500-odd puzzles but as it is, the password feature is the next best thing :P

My Chokkan arrived today as well (Band Brothers, however, did not).

Played it a bit...can't find the main mode though.  Gamefaqs-me-do!

Edit - arse, no guide or anything. :)  Help!

You mean the puzzle mode? It's the selection in the top left corner when they all open up (i.e. one in each corner), and then the top option out of the two that appear.

EDIT: You edited :P

To the few of you who've got Band Brothers - how much of a problem is the language barrier? Seeing as the EDGE review resolutely ignored that issue, I've yet to make up my mind about importing it or no. I'm sure I'll prefer the tacky JPop to whatever would get put on the US/European versions of the game, but if the language barrier proves too much I'd rather have a version of the game in a language I understand :P

It's not a problem. At all. :D

Hasn't been a problem at all.

It talks to you in English to start with - which is nice, and most menu options are in English, or have English text behind the Japanese text (and the English text shows up first so if you're quick enough you can read it before the Japanese text shows up).

The pert breasted cat talks in Japanese text, but what she says doesn't seem to be important at all (and is probably the kind of stuff I'd skip even if it was in English).

I bought one at a Super Target in Clearwater/Florida last week, very lucky to get one because all of the major stores have been sold out for ages over there but they had a delivery in that day and I snagged one (in your face customs!).

Very impressed with it, Mario DS plays great, also got a racing game which I can't remember the name of (I left the boxes over there for my friend to post over to get around customs) which is pretty good too.

Old skool styling is OK but a bit "meh" compared to the GBA:SP.

For whoever asked about games cases a page or so back I got this from videogamesplus which should suit your needs.

The description they give honestly isnt the best as the game storage is two seperate ipodish sized cases each of which hold 3 gba and 3 ds games and a spare stylus. Also the spare stylus included in each case ( 1 grey,1 black ) is roughly an inch longer and about 1 and a half times as thick as the standard stylus and is much better.

Look, just because it's longer and thicker doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better :)
