It'll be a Shorten file - it's lossless audio compression. There are several free tools to let you get at the file (including Winamp plugins and the like), and as it's a lossless copy, you can re-encode it without any generational loss of quality.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like shnf is actually some kind of a 'folder' collection of Shorten files, I'm assuming something like a zip file full of .shn files. The players and plugins should still apply as it's full of Shorten files when you get into it.
