I have to say the Episode III dvd is visually spectacular with a crystal clear Dolby digital sound track. I enjoyed seeing the film again but unfortunately things became apparent that I didn't notice when I last saw the movie in May. Mainly the script is at times laughably bad. Not just as bad as Attack of the Clones but still. Lucas certainly got so much of the final film spot on and as such is by far the strongest film in the new trilogy. It's no Empire Strikes Back but not much is.

Han Solo is fucking rubbish in Return of the Jedi. They took the coolest character from the first two films, and turned him into pointless comic relief- the way they set up Boba Fett as the baddest ass in the galaxy then had Han hilariously kill him by accidentally twatting him with a stick was lunacy.

Looking forward to picking up the DVD on Monday. I really enjoyed the film at the cinema and it saved the new trilogy for me. I loved Phantom Menace, hated Attack of the Clones, but Revenge of the Sith has been my favourite movie this year so far.

As for Return of the Jedi it's a great film, and Han Solo is a god among characters.

On a level with Attack of the Clones, for me. I thought Phantom Menace was a pointless film. I could have barfed during the race.

Just watching the DVD rip right now.

I'd forgotten how sad the Jedi being slaughtered was.  :D  x 13242

Mine doesn't work properly.

I can get the second half to work, but the first half gives me some weird error about there not being enough space on my harddrive, even though I clearly do have enough space...

I sort of agree with this, he should never have been in the assault on Endor either. He should have been flying the Falcon.

He doesn't kill Boba Fett.

Attack of the Clones was bad enough in the first place, but ever since Sky Movies kept showing it on weekday mornings and it didn't look out of place among the TV movies, I've realised that the film is impossibly bad.

I just can't believe Fox didn't say, 'fuck off, Lucas, you're taking the piss now, go back and do a proper movie with the budget we gave you'.

That's the whole point - All the new trilogy were financed directly from Lucas's heaving wallet. Fox were simply distributors

If it was a studio putting up the money, I'm sure we would have seen some very different (better?) films. Lucas has created such a magnificent 'world' with the Star Wars films, it's just a shame he can't write or direct for fuckin' toffee.

The only emotion I felt coming out of ROTS was the relief that I'd never have to feel so let down so badly ever again.

I think there is a case for people being swept up in common thought. It's not a bad movie in the slightest. None of the new trilogy relate to the old trilogy, but they do all feel like Star Wars.

The Phantom Menace is a poor movie, Star Wars or not, but both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are good action features. Watch them as a non-Star Wars fan and you'll see.

Attack of the Clones is imo damn near unwatchable...Utterly awful, even when I saw it at the cinema I only thought it was ok, repeat viewings have hammered into my skull how utterly utterly terrible it is...

Phantom Menace I can watch every now and then, Jake Lloyds not great and Jar Jar is annoying but I still enjoy watching it...

All imo of course...

My son, 6 years old. Who has seen all 6 movies now. Likes the films in this order 3,2,4,1,6 and 5(empire sb).

So that shows the intended audience say 5-14 yr old prefer the new movies more. And GL can be vindicated and shows he hasnt lost his touch.

So anyone got their Sith DVD yet? I'm a wee bit underwhelmed by the extras, if only 'cos the other movies have such awesome ones. Even Phantom Menace has a killer documentary on it that's worth watching, whether you hate the flick or not.

The documentary on Sith isn't anywhere near that good. They didn't even include all the web documentaries (it's missing at least 2).

The deleted scenes are very sweet though, can't believe some of that stuff wasn't kept in. You actually - gasp - see Grievous acting like a bad arse, not a coughing retard..

You can get to see Mr Grievous acting well funky in the later Clone Wars cartoons...

Great stuff those.

It shows that little kiddies are impressed by special effects.

Your son's an idiot.

;)

Episode III is rubbish, the most disapointing in the new trilogy because it's plot was actually important - I and II were just filler really - and Lucas fucked it up.

i couldn't agree more.

that lucas screwed up such a ripe dramatic premise is criminal. it shows he just a very rich, fat, rather bland, old man who doesn't really care about his project anymore.

Lucas did make a God awful mess of the newer films but the 3rd one wasnt all that bad. Granted it didnt live up tot he story or lore of the first part of the trilogy but it was still an entertaining picture to watch all the same.

At the end of the day its just a series of 6 films. If you want something with stretched out storylines and futuristic stuff go watch Star Trek.
