one more question regarding shopto: who do they use as their courier?

i'm just a bit worried that if it comes early i won't be in and i really don't want it going back to the depot. i've got the collectors edition by the way, so it's not something they'll just be able to post. i hope they leave it with a neighbour.

Well the CE's just a std dvd size so it'll be in a jiffy bag as normal - I think it's just std 1st class post they send so should pop through the letterbox with no hassle.

It gets worse. There's quotes on the back from FHM, The News of the World, The Official Xbox Magazine, and IGN.com. The IGN one - "Nothing short of epic" wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't been taken out of context, from a preview they did which said "We haven't touched on the single-player game, which everyone expects to be nothing short of epic.". Seriously, Microsoft, why even bother putting silly quotes on the back of the first shipment of boxes? People aren't exactly waiting on reviews before they decide whether to splash out...

Oh, and about Gameplay orders 'shipping' - not a chance. You can cancel your pre-order at any time before they ship it, right? So for highly anticipated stuff like this, they say they've 'shippped' your order really early, to stop you cancelling it and going elsewhere...

My final post of the evening (probably) but yeah - it's offically awsome. New weapons are fantastic, story seems to be less.. well Halo 2... and it just feels oh so right.

I cannot wait for next week to start playing co-op with a bunch of mates.... this. will. rock.

Edit: Could anything in life be MORE about the Chopper? Could it? Really? Of course it couldn't. Lord i'm enjoying this hella much.

Seriously though as someone elsewhere has pointed out - The Sun as the front of box quote????? What next? Dave Perry (bandana not Shiny) on the front of Assasin's Creed having a wank over it?

The Sun quote gets me most. First time I saw it on the Pre-order now posters we got months ago, it made me cringe.

Unless you live in the country like me, in which case your postman just signs for it themselves and leaves a cheery message.

I can't see myself getting it early as I ordered the Legendary Edition from GAME's website. It isn't like I don't have anything else to play as I really, really do... but knowing some people are playing it right now is torturous. Ignorance is bliss.

bollocks, the depot's not even in my town, it's about 5 miles away. plus the twats don't open on a saturday, so i doubt i'll get this until the next time i have a day off work.

Or as Mortis says, try and speak to him and tell him to either just post it or leave it with neighbours. As lond as he's trustworthy of course...

i would if i ever actually saw him. i think he gets round to my house about 1pm.

Well my card has been charged but in my order history the order appears as uncompleted with a dispatch date of '-'. However, my mate's card has been charged and according to his order history it was sent today. Maybe you're right but that's a bit inconsistent if it's as simple as 'we're lying to you so you can't cancel', no?

Same here, although the order history box in my account claims that "The last item we sent to you was Halo 3 Legendary Edition on 19/09/2007".

Obviously it hasn't though. Tuesday for the win!

I ordered the Legendary Edition from Game.co.uk and always just planned on getting a normal copy at a midnight launch or whatever. This always happens - mine's the last to get dispatched or some error crops up.

I ordered it back in March but got a new Switch card last month. I realised I used the old cared for my order and phoned Game who sorted it out for me. The same thing happened with Halo 2 with my pre-order for that, I shouldn't be so eager in future...

Also, here's a guy who got banned for playing Halo 3 Epsilon (lol):

Oh right. So his order history claims it was sent today but when he clicks on the order it actually wasn't. Good, I don't want him playing it before me after his taunts anyway, the git.

It really is a 'we're lying to you situation'. You can understand why. If you have multiple pre-orders or try and get one from a store you're going to be more likely to give up on the idea when you've already been charged and can't cancel.

I've got a Legendary order and a collector's order but if neither are dispatched by tuesday then I'll be down blockbuster at 10 on Wednesday. Don't think I'll be doing midnight though.

Ok- well. It's firstly a lot of fun. That was missing sometimes in Halo 2. It's fun to be pinned down and work out how to slog past that area with lots of enemies. The brutes are practically big elites- they even sound the damn same. Theres a coridoor .where you meet like ten of them and it was frustrating and fun to go through there. The second level so far is a dissapointment in comparison to the first, but still good. Snipers are fucking back, as are the flying bug things which just irritate me and aren't fun.

I'm enjoying it, a lot. But having simmered the excitement down now, it feels like Halo 1 sometimes and Halo 2 rerun at others. Still to early to tell, but the simplicity of the first game is not here in constant, so people expecting that may not be thrilled.

But with four friends in co op over live, it looks like a fucking blast. If in single player its this much fun, that should be immense.

Is it better than Halo 1 so far? No.

I hated those flying things...
