OK, I'm now vacating this topic since Uzion keeps posting pics. See you all in a week.

There are lots of the 'argos folly' copies showing up on ebay now, if any body here has more money than sense.

I've got one copy coming from play and the other from ShopTo, neither has made it past the 'pre ordered' phase.

Boo.

I see that my Legendary edition has already been dispatched by Gameplay. That means it'll be with me for the weekend, right?

My Collector's Edition has also been dispatched, or more realistically it hasn't. Sorry but they've just started packing the orders for dispatch next week as per my and others emails received earlier today

To make sure that we get this title to everyone who ordered it for release day we have had to start our picking and packing process a little earlier than we would for our normal pre-orders. Gameplay also sent out dispatched emails for Bioshock when in fact they hadn't shipped a single copy. I'm still hoping Shopto carry on their tradition of sending games out the day they get them...

They aren't dispatch emails though, they're just saying they're packing them up ready to send off for release so you might get your card charged soon if they pack yours now. They obviously wont have time to package and post all the pre-orders on the same day.

Gameplay are just making sure they get the money - with argos breaking street date (albeit only briefly) and some smaller shops probably not caring and selling early they just want to make sure they have your money and you don't cancel on Thurs morn because your local indie got stock in early.

Well, a mate of mine has just logged into his Gameplay account to find this sentence:

The last order we sent to you was Halo 3 on 19/9/2007.

Git.

I've got the same message. It hasn't actually been dispatched though, just packed and ready for dispatch on Monday/Tuesday. Oh and look at your order history :angry:

one more question regarding shopto: who do they use as their courier?

i'm just a bit worried that if it comes early i won't be in and i really don't want it going back to the depot. i've got the collectors edition by the way, so it's not something they'll just be able to post. i hope they leave it with a neighbour.

Bah Humbug!! I really was absolutely fine waiting until next Wednesday for this until reading about the Argos situation. Now, suddenly the wait has become incredibly painful, no doubt purely based on jealousy of the people who already have it in their grubbly little mitts (no, I'm not jealous honestly). I was fine though, as I have lots of things to play and was still enjoying COD4 amongst others. Now, I don't want to play anything else right now...

That's pretty much how I felt. I got a text around 15:30 saying Argos are selling it but could only pop out of the office around 16:30 with no joy. Went to a different Argos near me who said they don't have it in but another store about 8 miles had 34 in stock so he reserved me one and I went on my way. I get there an hour later to be greeted with a flat out 'No'. I was annoyed and called the store that sent me there and he said if I pop in tomorrow he'll give me £10 for the inconvenience :angry:

He also said it looked like they were getting fined over it unless they could up with a cracking excuse.

Still, I got the confirmation email for my Legendary Edition today though :(

They come through Royal Mail Recorded Delivery so if you're not there you'll probably have to go and sign for it at the depot. I've ordered with them too, really hoping they come through early for us....
