Just so people are clear. This story was true when it was published. Nothing was made up. It has since been updated with more current information though.

When are the professional reviews allowed out saying Halo 3 is a flawless masterpiece with absolutley no issues or anyhting wrong whatsoever and if you don't buy it you are some kind of kiddie-fiddling cunt that hates microsoft and wants games journalists to starve in the streets.

I just want to get really hyped then dissapointed like last time.

I remember when the Halo 2 French version became available. So many people posted here saying "its amazing 10/10" and within a few weeks those people were saying "meh, Halo 1 is better".

However, let the hype begin........

OMFG best game evaaaaaaah!

Nah - pretty lovely ace tough.... first 20 mins or so complete and it's lovely. Even just the menu music and a new animation of the halo loading ring brought a smile to the face. Graphics as said elsehwere aren't next gen pant droppingly stunning but it's just how you'd hope it would look. (the dropships in particular look stunning) all that great gameplay we know and love. As with pretty much all games that aren't gears of war it lacks that initial OMG moment, but it's the third halo so what do you expect - shagging Angelina Jolie for the third time while i would imagine amazing still isn't quite as knee weekening as the first.

Hoping it doesn't go to balls.

Ok- well. It's firstly a lot of fun. That was missing sometimes in Halo 2. It's fun to be pinned down and work out how to slog past that area with lots of enemies. The brutes are practically big elites- they even sound the damn same. Theres a coridoor .where you meet like ten of them and it was frustrating and fun to go through there. The second level so far is a dissapointment in comparison to the first, but still good. Snipers are fucking back, as are the flying bug things which just irritate me and aren't fun.

I'm enjoying it, a lot. But having simmered the excitement down now, it feels like Halo 1 sometimes and Halo 2 rerun at others. Still to early to tell, but the simplicity of the first game is not here in constant, so people expecting that may not be thrilled.

But with four friends in co op over live, it looks like a fucking blast. If in single player its this much fun, that should be immense.

Is it better than Halo 1 so far? No.

To the people who've got it: what difficulty are you starting with? Heroic?

I got that email too but I don't think we'll see the game until the 26th. Gameplay may start sending dispatch emails out on Monday but you won't see the game until Wednesday. Hopefully I'm wrong but that's usually what happens with Gameplay and a AAA release.

Is the level design a bit more inspired than a series of parallell skyboxes?

Does the game patch itself together like a virtual quilt if you do a quick 180degree turn?

Do the covenant talk like entities trapped in a sky one filler series circa 1998?

Are there giant cubes that serve no purpose other than to demonstrate the physics are fundementally broken?

Do the brutes resemble polished turds firing rabbit turds at every plausible angle?

Sorry. Still bitter.

I'm expecting to get it by Tuesday at the latest. I've never had a pre-order from Gameplay arrive later than the day before release, including Halo 2.

I know, but sometimes Gameplay stick to the "absolute" release date, they did with Halo 2 (I remember that well :lol: ) and Gears of War.

I smell a conspiracy, my Halo 3 better turn up on Tuesday now. Although my employer has changed it's financial calendar so it's month end on Wednesday so no time off for me next week :lol:

Gameplay are shipping copies, including second class orders "to arive on the day of release". That means, Royal Mail abiding, Tuesday should be a go for first class.
