Can someone explain to me what the giant plant thing was in Halo 2...that was werid.

It was 100,000 years' worth of pure, concentrated Floodness, was rather pissed off and didn't fancy the prospect of being stuck there for another 100,000 years. Hence sending the Chief and the Arbiter to stop the Covenant activating the rings, killing everything and trapping it there with no one to cosy up to. Even giant, all consuming hive mind entities get lonely sometimes too.

Taken from that article on forge:

First, the bad news. That option at the top, the one called “Allow Editing”? In theory, this option would let you restrict editing to the Party Leader, and prevent everyone else from editing. In practice, ah… ahem… well, not so much. That’s what we call a “feature”. It’s like how sometimes, when a plane lands, the tires blow up. Halo 3 is that plane. This was one of those tires.

Its scary that a title as huge as Halo 3 can still have known problems/bugs in it when its released, and they said they would never get into the "release now, Patch Later" mentalilty...

ok more from Bungie.net (and again please tell me if this has already been discussed) but it looks like the new Bungie.net will be up tomorrow (well the frame work at lease) and then on saturday they will activate all the features. you can read the article here and there is also a piece detailing all the new additions on team xbox here

This screen of the site looks like it reveals the names of all the multiplayer map. Pretty certain things like "the pit" or "construct" have not been revealed. Although there are only 11 maps listed

This screen shows a picture of the pit level and it almost looks like something out of rainbow six, kinda of an industrial area with lots of corrigated metal...
