In the same way that my GOTY so far Bioshock wasn't the game for me?

I played most of the 1st one, actually. When it was out on PC.

Can't remember what happened.

Tried the 2nd one about a month or two ago and never played it again. Too many better games out at the time.

Looking forward to Halo 3 though. Can't wait, infact

While you were pissing and moaning about Bioshock in that thread, I just told you you were shit and should give up. Naturally, you went out of your way to prove me wrong, and ended up loving the game. A good thing. You should thank me for my awesome motivational skills.

But seriously, if you didn't like, or weren't inclined to play Halo 1 and 2, there's absolutely nothing for you in Halo 3.

Nope. The first game was one of the grestest games ever made. The second game was merely great. But in no way would it be fair to say that Halo 2 in single player mode was anything below great becuase side by side with most other games it still blows them out of the water. It just wasn't Halo great.

I hated Halo 2 when it first came out (single player), but having revisited it last month it isn't that bad. The hype at the time pretty much killed it I think. There was no way it could live up to peoples expectations. Which is why I'm trying my hardest (and failing) to stop getting excited about Halo 3.

I've tried to understand this opinion over and over again, but I just can't.

To me, the first game was dull. But hey, I had fuck all for my Xbox back then, so I finished it anyway. The great controls helped a lot, though.

Then the second game came. Which was so fucking boring that I stopped playing after the bit where you see a cutscene with a giant talking plant.

Seriously, WHY do you people love these games so much? Apart from the multiplayer, that is. (Which, imho, is the only reason one should ever buy these games.)

Let me put it this way. You know when you meet someone and they say "Yeah, Resident Evil 4, I don't see the fuss" and you go WTF OMG and you just know it would be a losing and pointless battle to get them to see the right way.

That's you with Halo. It's all I'll say.
