the advert that they were playing over 2 huge screens on times square in new york was dead good though... featured a quick clip of MC jumping over a cliff into a canyon with tons of basts and some big red guy in the middle.

I agree with the sentements about the head moving. Just panning to the glowing plasma grenade would have been enough.

They do, but I'm not sure I appreciate the mood. They increasingly want Halo to exist outside of the game world and it makes me cringe a bit.

Also 'Believe' is such a played out and run of the mill tagline, I'm surprised they went with it.

It's all a bit too much all of this.

rubbish ad. All the epic battle reduced to Warhammer miniatures. Should have faded to balck in parts and had killer CGI to contrast the modelwork. So the chief is beaten by a Chieftain and goes out in a blaze of grenade glory!

The interviewer in the previous advert asks the old boy where he was when the Chief armed his grenade. The old boy said after that that knowing he (Chief) was still in the fight gave him hope.

So I'm gonna speculate that he stuck that monkey bastard, kicked him in the nuts and then fucked up the rest of the brutes that were surrounding him.

An excellent ad campaign I feel. It's got me so excited I'm semi erect.

Its not just the fact that the head moves its the way it moves and that it ends up facing the camera directly.

I'd have had the advert end at the glow of the grenade, but if its correct that the earlier ad is web only then it perhaps needs to be more obvious that the chief is alive for the TV audiences than it is for us.

It would be kind of cool if the old guy was one of the kids in that advert; i like the idea of seeing this character at both of ends of his life and the way that this battle resonates through it all makes it all nicely epic.

I read the Wired article on testing again - it's excellent. It really does fill me with confidence for this game.

I wonder how companies like Capcom and Nintendo test the gameplay as well... wonder if they do simiar stuff?
