For you MP, if the game came out early I would either have a early release impressions thread seperate to this or not post at all. No one should have anything ruined.

That said, in the Bioshock thread, all the numptys that posted spoilers were ones that got the game officially. Stroker and I said fuck all

You are of course right about the Bioshock thread. I suppose that was a bit different, in that there wasn't much to discuss that wouldn't be spolierish to some degree, whereas with Halo there's plenty to talk about apart from the campaign story.

Damn, I had the legendary edition on order with shopto, but they have cancelled it now as they didnt get enough stock allocated to them. Anyone know anywhere else I could pick this up? Ive ordered the collectors edition now just to be safe.

so you've got the collector's edition on order with shopto now then syntax? i've got the same on pre-order with them and i was just wondering what they were like for delivery? will they get it out to me for launch day?

I'd say they will get it out quicker than anyone else. Usually they get stuff out early but I doubt they will with H3.

Are shops doing a midnight opening thing? I would think they would, seeing as it's being touted as 'bigger than any movie launch ever'.

I love it when people ask me this at work. It makes me laugh like a drain. Inside, obv. Laughing at customers sad bough to be out for a fucking video game at midnight would just be rude :D

Same here. I'd love to know how many they got. The e-mail suggests that got a very small percentage of their orders. Looks like this is one release that will be genuinely limited. As a side note I have just noticed that shopto are based five minutes from my house.

I thought the difference between "Collector's" edition and "Legendary" edition was that Legendary came with two bonus disc instead of one.

Collector's has a "making of" DVD. Legendary has also the "making of" DVD and another DVD featuring Hi rez cut scenes from halo1 & 2.

Big Fucking deal I say. I bought the "collector's edition" version of Halo2. watched the DVD once then couldn't give a fuck.

There is only ONE Disk I give a fuck about.....the one with the game on it.

Fuck the helmet.

You are going to be missing out on the Bungie commentary on the Halo/Halo 2 cutscenes, a few bits of machinima, a more expanded (but electronic, not paper) bestiarum, and the cat helmet. Not a disaster.
