i didn't mind ripping the turret from the ground and walking about in third person shooting the shit out of everyone in the halo 3 beta though.

I know it's necessary for balance but it wasn't so much the viewpoint that frustrated me as much as the speed of movement...

I read someone post exactly that while the beta was running, I tried it myself and it definitely doesn't work so I'm not sure how that rumor started. All it did was kill me because I was stood on the outside of the pipe, whoever was inside didn't die.

I just read the preview in Edge and it sounds like this game is going to be very special as they have packed it with so many features and levels of customisation. Forge is going to be crazy I don't quite understand the meta game thing though.

I agree with you, my own screen is 720p too, I think scaled 1080p will prove to be the best option for those with screens capable of taking the input.
