Looks like they've fixed the hill in multiplayer then, look at the bottom of the second page, it seems more transparent than in the beta which was annoying at times when you couldn't see out properly.

Also, what's Guilty Spark doing in multiplayer on that last page?

That was stupid in the Beta. Totally ruined it, especially in dark rooms / areas.

That's how you appear in the Forge Level Editor, do try and keep up Yaw.

what's the prowler then... holmes?

The prowler is the brute equivalent of a spectre, which in turn is the covenant equivalent of a warthog. It's a four-person vehicle, I think.

and i still see no sign of fighting the elites.

At this stage, I can't say I'm expecting to fight any elites in Halo 3, given what's been revealed so far. But who knows.

so why no elites?

have they really made the brutes behave like them this time?

halo isn't halo without those hard bastards ducking behind rocks and running away from grenades and rockets.

i really hope they've changed the ai of the brutes to the elites for this one. a full game of stupid monkeys just doesn't sound good.

Jjjjuuuuussssttttt now, starting to feel the hype kicking in.

I'm glad its now I'm feeling it, and not six months prior to release, a la Halo 2.

Same here. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it and am highly tempted to spend a zillion on eBay buying a set of replica Mk V MJOLNIR armour and run around cold clocking sleeping midgets.

Yeah, that'll do.

They have changed the AI of the Brutes anyway. There's a Bungie Video about it.

yeah, i saw that. vidoc 2 or somethig wasn't it?

anyway, i know the brute ai needed changing but so did their hit zones and the weapons you could successfully use against them.

i just hope they pose as much as a threat and they behave in a similar way to the elites this time around.

i know there's no berserking, but god they were shit to fight in halo 2. stupid monkeys.

It was quite cool the way you could headshot them once or twice for the kill though, made them a bit less tiresome, though you could argue that it made them way too easily sometimes, especially if you had carbine. They were similar to Halo 1's Hunters in that respect.

that's what i mean, it'll be piss easy and boring if you can do that now.

not that i think you will, but i still think their behaviour routines were shit compared with those sneaky high ranking elites. besides they just weren't as much fun to take down, were they?

Sounds like the Brutes (or at least some of them) have shields now, so I reckon they've just made them as close to the elites as old as possible, bar their appearance.

The way they describe the AI using equipment makes it sound awesome, Halo's great for it's constantly changing battles and the equipment sounds like it adds so much to that aspect.

[edit]

In the latest podcast, obv.

i know there's no berserking, but

Unfortunately, they do still go beserk, just not all the time. IIRC it specifically happens when you knock all their armour off. Hilariously, you can drop a grav-lift in front of a beserking brute and watch him fly

The flamethrower looks the tits! I've got a feeling it will be slow and powerful, and maaaaybe third person?

The wall of flame to stop flag carriers and block entrances and exits throws up a lot more strategy. Bioshock, then THIS, then Mass Effect. (and Cod4 and Orange box) Oh my.

On the Bungie site there's this little questionaire that frankie answers, and one of the QA made me feel more at ease with the single player campaign.

Are the co-op characters going to be AI's when you're not playing co-op? And if so, will they be stupidly invulnerable?

Only the Arbiter is there for some of the time when you play solo, and he's not invulnerable.

So I can bloop him in the head if he gets on my tit end. :o

Also mentioned that the default MP voice is male, but you can choose a lass's voice. Female Spartan MP model maybe?

And there are more armour variations and more weapons and vehicles to be revealed. We haven't seen it all just yet......
