The wait is killing me. I'm so desperate for Halo 3 that I've gone back to playing Halo 2 online. Not much seems to have changed. I still get called a fag and/or a nigger once per evening. At least there's the first issue of Halo: Uprising to look forward to in a couple of weeks time. And maybe something exciting will come of the ARG.

I remember when the beta was on I got so used to muting people in the first 3 seconds of the match. Once you can't hear them, you just get on with the game!

I'm looking forward to it too but I'm busy with work and am buying a new house so hopefully the time will flyby.

Also, I'm hoping to get some kind of Halo 3 LAN going in my big new house as I should be in there in September. Should be good.

I shifted on my copies of Halo 1 and 2, today. Not a bad series but, as a single player experience, it doesn't pull up trees. Shows moments (Outside skirmishes in the lashing rain, etc) but then resorts to standard corridor running.

Half-Life 2 excites me more, even though I've completed it on two formats multiple times.

I beleive it's a novelty storage device, Holmes.

are you using 'holmes' like they do in san andreas there? because, if so, i always wondered why it was spelt like that. surely it should be 'homes' as in short for 'homeboys'.

if not, carry on.

No, Holmes as in Sherlock.

what the fuck's sherlock got to do with anything?!

anyway, i think my point still stands regarding san andreas.

I think you're right. Should be Homes.

Google definition:

Definitions of homes on the Web:

Homie or homey, sometimes homes (used in the singular) is slang for friend. For example, "My homie is coming over later." Also used in the form of homeboy and homegirl, which are sometimes shortened to simply boy and girl. When shortened to boy or girl it is often preceded by the possesive "my".

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homes

Street slang -- Homeboy, homie, buddy, friend.

Nice to see the Sherlock Holmes/Dr. Watson interlude went completely over some heads, there.

Eejits.

edit: by the way, i'm not saying anything about your post, it's more the san andreas thing. wrong thread though, i guess!

Chalk me up as another who has just read the Edge feature and is now really pumped.

Their description of the highway level describes exactly what I was hoping for from Halo 2 all those years ago - a convoy of Warthogs packed with marines, bouncing over a huge, open battlefield towards massed enemy ranks of soldiers and vehicles, and everything kicking off in a huge melee made up of various skirmishes. I just hope most of the game is like this, not just the one sequence.
