I'm amazed they've got this four player. How can a level be designed to accomodate both one and four players? I hope this doesn't mean vast empty spaces and pretty much unecessary vehicles for the solo campaign.

The Rainbow Six series works perfectly with 4 player co-op and they're not exactly the most expansive games, level design wise.

I'm not that familiar with Rainbow Six, but I think it's a squad game regardless of how many of the squad are player controlled. Halo solo campaign won't have three permanent AI controlled companions throughout the levels will they? You'll have army people dropping in occassionally but they won't operate like the player(s). I'm not sure Rainbow Six is a valid comparison.

Maybe not, but to be honest I've never played a bad game with online co-op. With the right people it always seems to work regardless.

I trust Bungie when they say they've already had some of their best ever Halo experiences when playing 4 player co-op, I can't wait to join them.

Halo 3 will be a squad game too. At least a 2 player squad game. It's a lot easier to get the scale right from 2 to 4 people than it is from 1 to 4. The Arbiter will be around the whole time even if you're playing on your own. I wouldn't be surprised if you could even choose who to play as during each mission but maybe that is going a bit far. The single player will be built just like Gears did with an AI controlled 2nd player. Let's just hope the AI is better in Halo 3.

i don't mean to piss on anyone's bonfire here, but i agree with shook. i really want a single player game to match halo and i want to fight the elites. they're the best thing in it.

i really hope they haven't fucked it up like gears of war.
