so, picture 3, what does that say about co-op being "sur le Live"?

"Since Halo 2, the co-op has improved: each player can play on an entire screen, whether on a LAN or over Live."

Is that a Mjolnir armoured elite in green, bottom left

The helmet in particular makes it look pretty similar to the elite rangers (below) that you find larking about outside Cairo station. My guess is it's just a slightly different take on that armour permutation.

:D

My interpretation of that translation is that they're talking generally about co-op games and not specifically H3, hence the "bugger". Though reading it back i guess it could be implied that H3 has Live co-op.

So I guess the fifth scanned page confirms that 'Metagame points' are for a score attack mode. I assume that's the new feature they were talking about on the Bungie podcast.

Incidentally, look at the screen in the Metagame boxout. It's hard to tell due to the quality, but isn't that Carnage Report showing four players? It looks like two are on the same 360 with the others presumably linked up over Live or System Link. Is four-player co-op a reality?

Looking at that screenshot, it's very hard to disagree. It's almost to good to be true.

Prob best not to get excited about anything co-op wise yet... I can smell the potential disappointment.

:(

Split-screen and System Link is done and ready. It's only online which is in the balance, and even then I reckon it'll be made available as DLC after launch if it is technically possible.

Oh, okay. Confirmed on GAF by Luke Smith, Bungie talking head:

Some non-believing mod needs to get "Confirmed" back in the title.

We'll have some more information on this and some details later today at Bungie.net.

Oh, okay. Confirmed on GAF by Luke Smith, Bungie talking head:

I've never been to that forum before, but looking through the thread they're all saying Bungie only included co-op because it's in Haze. I can't tell if they're being ironic or not :(

If there still was any doubt:

Halo 3 to Feature 4P Online Co-Op

Bungie wishy washy on co-op no more. This is the real deal.

By Patrick Klepek, 07/31/2007

The latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly caused a little controversy when Bungie couldn't confirm the existence of online co-operative play in Halo 3 because the feature wasn't ready. Now, apparently, it is. News out of a press conference in Amsterdam (as reported by Inside Gamer), later confirmed by former 1UP'er-turned-Bungie-mangod Luke Smith, brings word of four-player online co-op play over Xbox Live in the September shooter.

More details are expected on Bungie.net later today. Stay tuned.
