If there's one thing I wish they'd lose from Halo, it's that bloody radar. It's practically a frickin' wallhack.

It's very often the first thing to go in custom games. If Bungie could make 'off' the default, that would be lovely, thanks.

That Scarab in the last shot looks like it could be a boss from Starfox 64, too.

Halo works with the radar. You're just a gay.

You talk a lot of sense most of the time, but that's a contender for one of the wrongest statements I've ever read on on rllmukforum.

I wish they'd bring these babies back...

Sure, they look naff, but it seems a whole lot less cheaper than bringing in the enemies the way that they do now - beaming X number of them out of a hole in the bottom of Samus' ship. It was great fun attemping to wipe them all out with a grenade as they disembarked, or sniping them before they even left their seats.

I *really* hope he pulls that trigger so we never have to play as Jar Jar Bink's cousin again.

It's shit. You know when someone's following you, you know how they're planning on attacking your base, you know where their snipers are and you know exactly how many enemies you're up against, all the time.

It's a half-assed wallhack. You always know where the enemy is, so it's just a case of pointing and shooting as accurately as possible. It makes a mockery of strategy and stealth and turns the game into a trigger-finger test. It always has.

Total shit. To anyone who defends it, I call Noobatronics. Go play a real FPS, or turn the radar off and turn Halo 2 into one.

I think it's brilliant and I liked to play GRAW with all markers off. It's all about sneaking up on people and bashing them from behind in Halo and I'd like it to stay that way.

I think you're going a bit far there. The radar only has a certain radius so you can tell when a team is about to attack you and where the snipers are in Halo 2 but that's through having a look to see (and communication with your team mates).

no radar games are fun though

And it's a motion sensor, not a radar (pedant alert!) so you can freeze and they can't pinpoint you, if you're clever about where you hide. It also means you have a choice about how to move: off-radar but slow or fast but visible. It works great, especially in storm-the-base or 1-versus-1 situations.

And it also gives the game a unique flavour in single player (I really miss it in other FPS). The game would probably work without the motion sensor, but I'm glad it's there.

And those screens are gorge. I'm actually starting to get interested in Halo 3. As long as I don't get into a Halo 2 level frenzy over it I'll be fine (I was looking forward to Halo 2 so much, my head did actually explode, and subsequently had to be reconstructed... but the surgeons messed up).

Also, where are the Shadows? And I want to be able to drive them this time, not just use the turret on top. :)

They were going to let you drive them but I think they ran out of time. I can't remember if it actually lets you get in them but there was definitely a "Hold X to drive" message if you got one in multiplayer.

What? No you don't. It's a motion sensor, it only tracks enemy movement in regular 1.5-sec intervals. In fact, in the chaos of combat your radar is the least useful thing to be looking at. All the multiplayer I've played and not once did I immediately know where everyone was or when they were attacking my base or coming up behind or whatever. It's got quite a restricted radius after all. It's just a nice little tool.

Noobatronics my ass. It works just fine. Chill the hell out man!
