yeah carbines would be cool, but they fire too quickly i feel, with the shock rifle you had to almost predict the other players position. Although the bullet speed worked fine in Q3 with the rail gun ;) But then saying that there was that delay in between shots with the RG in Q3 - that the carbines dont have - perhaps upping the game speed and reducing the gravity a bit could compensate, making for harder targets......

sounds great to mess around with tho ;)

If all the options stay in the full release... ;)

Can't wait to see what game types come out of this. Just simple changes like setting gravity to high (not being able to jump much) makes rockets a completely different barrel of rockets. You can't just jump and hit the feet with splash damage, you have to actually point down (risking yourself), hit a nearby object (wall, tree) or hit them dead on. just a simple change can change the way the game is played.

And the way you can change the coloured powerup orbs to have different effects, bonus' and traits is genius.

So. Many. Options.

It's a game in itself making a gametype now. Brilliant!!

I want to play one team VIP, but 1 kill of the VIP wins the round and the VIP has 4x Overshield and can take tons of damage, but his shield does not replenish.

So basically as a team you'd have to organise a massive attack on the VIP to try and score, make it a bit more like Capture the flag or something.

It sounds great in my head.

I love the idea of being able to handicap the leader. I played a game last night where the leader spawned with laser and sword as we got the options a bit wrong.

Maybe a game type where there are no weapons at all, no grenades on the map and everyone bar the leader starts with 2 sticky grenades? Can you setup bonus points for killing the leader?

Oh, another great option would be:

On VIP games, set a 2 minute timer on the VIP. If they don't kill someone within 2 minutes they die and the team loses a point. While I think VIP is great it does lend itself to having the VIP sitting back while the team attack. It would be nice to force the VIP to go on the offensive.

Or even, every time they kill someone their time goes up by 30 seconds and every time any of the team kill someone, their time goes up by 5 or 10 seconds.

Actually, you could do a kind of reverse king of the Hill:

VIP, Starting time 5 minutes, every time the VIP gets a kill the time goes up by 30 seconds, team get a kill 10 seconds, Vip dies, time goes down by 1 minute. Obviously the team that drops to 0 first loses.

The numbers might need tweaking but you see what I'm getting at.

Sounds interesting. To be honest, in the VIP games that I've played the VIP was really aggressive. On Snowbound, we gave the VIP the shotgun and used him to mop up after the rest of the team had taken out as much of the opposing team as possible. Atarian also discovered that assassinating the VIP means that his overshield is worthless, so you can always surround him and then just beat him down.

I think this was meant to happen by Bungie. Either that, or they were planning of giving us Custom Games on the last few days.

I'm sure they will be quite happily collecting data on what options are being played the most and creating new gametypes from it.

Reading the set-up for Sticktacular, it looks awesome but would take a while to set up (yes, I'm lazy). What would be ace would be if Halo 3 had some method of saving your custom types and then sharing them with your friends.

They have GOT to do this. Have a proper sharing method and even a youtube style system with the most popular, submit your own etc.

I've just made that. Although I set it to first to 5 rather than rounds.

I wonder if extra health would be better too as a Plasma Pistol will still take the Overshield down.

That's even better, I just assumed you wouldn't be able to stop a plasma pistol taking all the shield off. You can actually stop it from recharging as well then?

Yeah.

This time it didn't take 5 to knock it off though, must depend on range or something. Definitely doesn't recharge though.

We were crying out for numbers earlier - ability counts for nothing in most of the ones we came up with anyway.

I've just made another (which may be shit) called Bonus Slayer:

2 points for a kill

1 point for an assist

2 points for killing the current leader

1 point headshot bonus

1 point sticky bonus

5 points spree bonus (every 5 kills)

I set it first to 50 but it might take 5 minutes or an hour - it's hard to gauge it without having a go.

If anyone cares they can see the 'getting out of Valhalla' glitch on my shared space, it's pretty similar to the video on Youtube but obviously a lot better quality and I don't have U2 playing in the background, which is always a bonus.

So, i've been playing quite a bit today and i'm getting the hang of the game now I think. I'l probably be on tommorow during the day and maybe in the evening. I'd love to have a crack at a custom game with people who ar'nt 'trash talking' bastards. I've had just about enough of people calling me a 'fag', or a 'nigger'.

Nothings changed 8)

By far the best games i've had were team slayer 4v4 on Valhalla. Moving in little units though the rocks and clashing in skirmishes.
