I just don't find it fun anymore , but this I prescribe to

1) me being shit

2) random cunts being, well, cunts

3) Lag being incredibly unpredictable

I play online games for the laugh, but the very nature of Halo 3 lends itself to tight competetive play, and for me that's about as much fun as being poked in the eye repeatedly with a butterknife.

When it works, it's ace. When it doesn't work it literally makes me want to weep blood.

You're right about the times when it doesn't work (due to lag, annoying opponents, or whatever) but because it's so good when it does work (I'd say about 80% of the games before 10pm) it's worth sticking through the bad games to get more good ones.

We're probably not affected as much because of tyler's amazing connection, so he gets the host for us quite a bit. It's mildly entertaining when the tables are turned and it's the Americans complaining about the lag :angry:

This is where point 1 comes in, I'm shit. Proper shit. No matter what I do, and this went for Halo 2 as well, I die lots. I can empty a magazine at someones head and I'll still come off worse. I can't move fast enough, I can't track where anyone is fast enough, I can't tell where I'm being shot from (yes, I am well aware of the red arrow thingy).

Unless you wanna be Obiwan to my Anakin? And, no, that isn't a euphamism.

Seriously though, Halo 2+ is not what I want from a threequel on new hardware. Sure, it's only a beta, but it's not exactly grabbing me right now.

I think making your mind up after one round is a pretty clear indication of how much salt needs to be taken with your opinion.

seriously, like always mr. sean is just trying to strike a nerve (and has succeeded). I find it amazing that people feel that what they're playing now will be what the final, store released title will look or play like 100%. the whole point of the beta was to test out some of bungie's matchmaking code and their servers on something other than an in-house, small scale.

if you read back at some of the articles posted on the various websites, you'll find tons of comments on how far the engine had advanced since their last build (which was only a month or two prior). I, for one, will refrain from passing judgement until the final product ships. (but as it stands, I think the game looks and plays fucking marvelously. it's everything that I wanted halo 2 to be and more.

Once you have got in a custom lobby if you then select leave lobby you will be in your own custom lobby. You need people on your list in custom games of course but its less hassle than the other method.

I will be on halo 3 for next hour or so so if someone wants to play customs add- xx ori0n xx [second o is a zero] join my party then leave and you will be able to share the custom lobby out with other people.

Not sure about that Assault map. The spawn points are a little TOO random, and it plays more like capture the flag, maybe that's just me. but it doesn't suit an attack/defend style of play.

but hey, the hills have PROPER grass, and the water's amazing, and hey, I'm a pretty straight guy, my friends will tell you that I'm not adverse to changing my opinions. Not once I ramped my sensitivity upto 10. Hell, even got one or two aerial kills (the other guy, I was on the ground)

I had fun tonight.

I was right about the lag, the GF is downloading something... but it's not the wire ;)
