Biglime Doesn't Like This Thread!

I wish someone had told me how tough Level 3 was (in a couple of key places) on Legendary before it almost sucked my will to live. Once I',d completed that I didn',t go back to Halo for months.

I',ll start it on Normal, then play through on Heroic then Legendary. I don',t give a shit about it being too easy (though Easy is definitely a waste of time for me) and I agree with those that found Heroic the most fun - I just want to finish the game while having massive fun and making quick progress so I can not have to worry about &quot, that bit on Level 8&quot, or whatever when I',m playing on Live.

Heroic always provided the best balanced gameplay for me in Halo, so I',ll be (tentatively) ploughing through Halo 2 in the same mode, hoping that the balance is as perfect as it was in the original. I agree that Legendary is a great challenge, but, as others have said, the difficulty',s way out of kilter at times, and the balance and flow of the game seems lost in some areas. It may ultimately be more satisfying (if you',ve the time and the sheer bloody-mindedness required), but it',s just not as much fun.

I',d also like to reach the end of the story some time before Spring 2005. You can',t avoid spoilers forever, after all.

Spare a thought for me, eh? I got as far as the big hangar with the balconies on Legendary, and lost my progress!,

I haven',t gone back.

I',m gonna play it on &quot,Easy&quot,, just like I did with the first Halo game. And I',ll have a bloody great time doing it.

Not everyone wants their games to be difficult and stressful, not everyone wants some bullshit macho challenge from their games. I just want to enjoy it and see all the cool moments.

Not really a joke, more a conjecture. The thread',s about intentions, not certainties. We all know that the game',s difficulty may be pitched differently from the original. People have remarked upon that. Everything',s still up in the air - the very existence of difficulty levels (or even the release of the game at all) included. It',s just a bit of anticipatory chit chat - like most of this folder, I suppose.

Who cares?

Doesn',t mean I',m not going to play the game. Politely, fuck off.

Yeah, but the thread',s actually CALLED ',Who here intends to play through on normal- it',s a bit insulting.',

It',s like the fucking Gamezville forum. So, impolitely, CUNT FUCK CUNT.

R.

Ah, I don',t actually care.

I just hope they make Legendary good this time round.

And another thing - what if there are the same three shields for each level representing each difficulty level completion? I NEED THEM ALL.

Did you get the Easy medal? I have them all but the easy one. It seems a bit... well, ghey to go through it on Easy mode, if you see what I mean.

So not too hot at Halo then.

Legendary was perfectly balanced for me. I likes a challenge.

Yes going up against the Covenant is tuff but then it bloody well should be.

As far as i know you don',t get an easy medal.

I',ll be going through it on Heroic first time through. Normal is just way to pansy on Halo so unless they bump up difficulty i',ll be skipping that unless i need the shield.

In all honesty, Legendary is a bit too hard for me. Not as in, I don',t like it, but as in, I can',t really do it. I',ve completed a few levels on Legendary (1, 2, 4) but it',s out of perseverance rather than skill that I manage it. I enjoy Heroic immensely, but finishing a level on Legendary gives me a greater sense of satisfaction than I think any other game has given me.

This whole thread is a joke.

Normal might be plenty hard enough for you. Legendary might be easy as all fuck. The game might be shit.

All of it',s still up in the air.

R.

Its called a discussion mate.

Anyway, what is meant by &quot, insulting&quot,? Its not like we wont have the option of higher difficulties for those among us who have incredible halo skills. It would be more insulting to new players to take out the easier difficulties.

I think the best place to start would be Normal. Its called Normal for a reason.

And I think one of the key elements in the story, is that the Covenant',s tactics and weapons are useless against the flood, whereas the human weapons are pretty effective. Its like rock-paper-scissors.

I found that the shotgun kicked the Flood',s ugly ass, but the Covenant plasma weapons also chewed them up nicely. Plus they were rapid fire, which was handy when you had those little heads-with-tentacles things running around.

On the library, it was shotgun &amp, assault rifle all the way for me. Love it - two shotgun shots to the head of a combat form, then sweeping motions with the assault rifle to clear up those infection forms. Oh and the carrier forms - shoot them in the legs with the shotgun to trip them over before they can get to you.

How is Legendary unbalanced? As Popo said, the Covenant are supposed to be every bit as tough as they are on Legendary - by contrast watch the marines slaughter them on Normal Difficulty and you wonder why you',re even needed. As for the argument that the Flood don',t present a step up from them, well, personally Library is the only level I haven',t completed and they',re hardly going to on any difficulty level.

It was imbalanced.

Started hard, got easy.

R.

don',t you think that',s because you got progressively better as you played?

at first legendary for me was a bitch but i don',t think it got any easier as i went through, i just learnt new tactics and which weapons would best suit each scenario.

and just to nail FACT to this, my second play through on legendary was a relative walk in the park, even at the start. i don',t think the game got any easier, just my skill level had increased.

so shut up moaning you fps ponce. ,)

Nope.

When the flood come, it',s a relief. It',s all out of whack. And Legendary isn',t even that hard on the whole...so...I don',t get it.

I',ll be playing it on the default setting.

R.

EDIT: That',s a far better thread title, by the way. You should have kept the ',Insulting, isn',t it?', bit though.
