When the end was announced I would have taken who they got back in a heartbeat.

Now it's happened I think because they managed to get so many high profile people back it makes some omissions look odd/probably more disappointing than they ought to be.

Jim Robinson - odd mainly because he has turned up as a wing mirror ghost for Paul at least once in the last few years.  Would have been easy to fit something into the Paul-Therese storyline.

Lou Carpenter - they got Harold back for a nice little stint rather than just a snippet and in many ways he was the glue for the concept.  Lou checking out Chez chez and playing off Harold would have been great.

Tom Oliver who played Lou Carpenter is in his mid 80s and lives in the UK. Apparently he’s not well so couldn’t appear. There was an easter egg tribute in the last episode though - they showed a letter to a conveyancer that was addressed to T. Oliver 😀

That was actually lovely

Hadn't watched it in decades but despite not knowing who half the cast were, as soon as I saw Susan and Karl I was instantly transported back to sitting cross-legged on the floor after school wishing I lived on Ramsay Street. I had no idea Harold Bishop was still in it as well! And the themetune megamix at the end was 🔥

What a nice send-off.

Yep, as everyone else has said, that was a really good way to end the show, whether you've been a constant viewer or someone like me who started near the beginning then drifted away. So many good memories of watching it on lunch breaks from school then the shift to the tea time schedule instead.

I never followed Home & Away much, but that's got to have an eye on beating Neighbours' run now.

Was absolutely delighted with the reference to The House of Trouser, but I think my wife's review summed it up pretty succinctly - 'That was a fucking shambles, but I do have a tear in my eye'.

Have just watched this short youtube series which I had not seen before is a bit campy but a lot of fun with some great cameos of characters going back a good few years.

There is also a neighbours vs zombies which has its moments but is not quite as good. Main highlight being the theme tune version they use.

Yeah i just came here to post..

Bizarre - i am surprised amazon didn't already pick it up earlier on. Nice i guess? Kinda cheapens that final episode though.

Infact i wonder if they aleady knew Amazon might pick it up - would explain the characters staying on the street. Not sure if Kylie would have returned knowing that it potentially could be saved though.

There will be episodes uploaded that won’t receive a single stream in 10 years or more, surely. Who wants to go back and watch April 7th 2007, outside of completists who will be in single figures. Seems an absurd use of bandwidth or storage or what have you.

Sky Mangel was in Neighbours during April 2007, so I am sure there will plenty of people -myself included, streaming those episodes.

 Sky, some of her music is pretty good in sub-Pink Kelly Clarkson way
