Why Are Games Like This Allowed To Be Released?

There's no bloody 'Invert Camera' option - up is up and down is down.

Why?, why?, why?

How hard would it have been to add?

That's the game buggered for me then. :P

Sorry for the title, I couldn't resist it.

Reading this topic has made me a bit angry.

People saying shit like "OMFG GOD RESPAWNING? I DON'T KNOW WHAT ITS ABOUT BUT IT SOUNDS SHIT!!11". How stupid.

And Pow, do you have ADHD or something? I never once even thought of skipping a cutscene. And I dunno what you're on about with the second level???

Anyway. I like it so far.

Respawning is teh suck though.

Not really. It only respawns if you set off an alarm. And from what i'e played that's essential, otherwise it would be too easy considering the powers you have (unlimited healing etc.)

I just don't like the way people automatically dismiss a game if they hear the word repawn, when they don't know how it is intergrated into the gameplay.

If you do the game perfectly and stealthy (by no means very hard) then you will not encouter respawning enemies (from what I have seen).

Wouldn't it just be easier for you to re-adapt?

It's doable, fo' sure.

Iirc I read an interview with Free Radical once, where they proudly proclaimed that their artists were also the level designers, and that games designers were just people who can't draw or code, and so surplus to requirement. The sort of continuous fuck ups made by Free Radical are testament to the fact that games designers are the foundation upon which every great game is built upon.

Not including an invert camera option is indeed appalling, saying nothing about the universally slated re-spawning enemies. Psi-Ops looks set to own this game in every way possible.

Which way around is the camera?

Is it:

up to look down / down to look up

or

up to look up / down to look down

?

Cos I'll buy it if its the way I can play it, if it isn't then I won't be able to buy it as it will be unplayable for me.

Pressing UP makes the character look UP, and DOWN makes him look DOWN.

I'd say that the opposite was more of a common configuration.

He's too old now.

Maybe he could get Mini-Hitch to play and just watch?

<_<

My son played it before me actually and the first thing he said was 'Ahhh, the camera's all wrong', then looked for the Invert Camera option.

When he couldn't find it he couldn't bothered to play it anymore.

Despite the camera issue (not a problem for me <_< ) this really is a nice game.

Although the Psi powers are not quiet as impressive as Psi-Op's. The game itself has bags more characters. The Free Radicals style and design is so obvious, its almost like playing a 3rd person Timesplitters game.

Im liking the control interface, especially for the computer terminals and shooting (duck, cover etc) which are both handled extremely well.

Basically its seems like a cartoony MGS, with Psi powers thrown in for good measure.

Anticipation is dropping.

Oh well, I bought the OPM2. There's a demo of second sight on the coverdisc, and I'll check that out. And then reduce anticipation even further, because I remember the TimeSplitters 2 demo consisted of the only good level in the game.

Dont let the Timsplitters comparison put you off. I really hated TS2 but am loving this!

Its just got so many neat little touches, its proving to be VERY addictive.

That depends on how many people you want to include in the question. I think it would be significantly easier for the developers to spend the necessary 5 minutes adding an invert option than for all the people who want to play it using an inverted Y-axis to look for the option that should be there, not find it, then have to unnecessarily readjust to the control system that the developer has foisted upon them.
