Not sure if old...

==================================================================

You have an option to turn active camo on or off so power ups are back

-Quickmatch and optimatch games will change your stats but party-based games will not.

-The guass cannon is confirmed in the OXM and in multiplayer

-The scoripian's movement and turret turning speed are both toned down

-In the Banshee, pressing left on the thumbstick and A simultaneously executes a barrel roll (similar to Crimson Skies)and right and A makes the banshee do a backflip, etc.

-The FRG isn't gone, it was assigned to the B button.(Banshee)

-The beam rifle overheats after four successive rounds, not two.

-Along with the swords only gametype, there was a sword and pistol gametype (no, not duel wielded )

-The Wraith is in multiplayer and it is a bit overpowered (Bungie noted this in the playing time so it will be tweaked most likely.) It also has a boost.

-You can customize any gametype like Halo PC, even the spawn of the vehicles.

-Lockout was described to house the Flood and study them. Where is lockout located?!

-They "have plans for downloadable content...we want to always keep it fresh and alive and cool and changing it up for our fans"

-Health bar is out-Confirmed.

-Wraith, scorpian, and banshee can all be boarded.

-When boarding either tank, the spartan or elite throws a grenade into the hatch and watch the driver explode while you take the seat afterwords.

-Your level will determine who you get matched up against in Quickmatch and optimatch.

Oh, and you CAN have Spartans and Elites on the same team!

So playing with your friends (which most of us do) wont increase/decrease your stats?

No no, this means that the host will be able to select whether to have ranking games or not, much like how you can select Exhibition games in PGR2 which don't affect your ranking. If you join a ranking game that one of your friends is in, it'll still count.

More info from txb forum:

1) If I threw a plasma grenade onto another plasma grenade that was on the ground they would stick together and turn a light blue-purple color. And 2 seconds later a charged explosion (almost twice the size) would result. Pretty damn cool imo! Talk about laying a trap for a flag capturer

2) When 2 players look at each other and throw a human grenade at each other at the same time, they’ll actually bounce against each other and fall to the ground.

3) Explosions from rockets, grenades and plasmas do less damage when thrown into water, and you’re near the blast. ...Maybe the blast radius is less, I’m not so sure.

4) If a human (and maybe covenant) grenade are thrown at an incoming rocket, they both blow up at impact. Nice Bungie! (I died)

5) Rocket jumps still kill you :\ Maybe some maps will allow the over shield power up.

6) Crouching into a very high fall will still do less damage then not crouching (essentially bending your knees to take the fall).

7) They apparently fixed the “rocket-glitch” YAY!

Driving a “boosted” ghost into a warthog is still hella fun (ghost gets the vert).

9) Grenades are rare.

10) Duel weapons aren’t as cheap as “killer” as you think. ...Well they are, but they aren’t TOO cheap.

11) Whacking someone in the back still kills them in one whack. If not in the back then usually 3 solid whacks to take him down. More momentum towards your enemy still causes more melee damage. ...Meaning if you jump at your enemy and swing you’ll do a lot more damage, and then it’ll only take 2 whacks to kill him.

12) The rocket is awesome (note, I hate rocket whores). But the blast isn’t as powerful as Halo’s.

13) Grenades concussive explosion aren’t as powerful as they were in Halo either. If you remember, there was a max damage that grenades did to players in Halo. Where even if you had %200 life, you would take more damage than if you had %100 life. This has been removed (thank someone at Bungie for mending that)!

14) Halo 2 is way cooler than the screen shots and crappy vids on the net give it credit to.

Just the newly designed bar that shows your shield. There is no health bar or healthpacks in the game.

Just takes a few shots to kill you once your shield is down. I'm not totally sure if your 'health' (not your shields) recharges back to 100% when your shield does though... So next time your shields go down it may only take someone to flick your ear before you die, you'd never know...

Not really sure I see that as evolving rather than taking a few steps back. I rather liked being able to still be able to function properly and know my limits when my shield was down, now it sounds like if my shield goes down I;ll be in the dark about how much more punishment I can take. Bungie, you may have messed up.

No health is the way it should have been in the first game. It is more realistic and takes away the stupid reliance on 'teh magical health pack'. You will not notice the slightest bit of difference when you play it and your shield will recharge faster anyway.

Yeah, I think getting rid of the health pack is one of those seemingly minor yet revolutionary changes to the genre - just like the two weapon system and having instant access to grenades/melee.

It's good to see that Bungie are still innovating rather than being too scared to change anything.

Well, as pointed out by Steven Poole in Edge ages ago, limiting the number of weapons MC can carry to two isn't realistic - he's supposed to be seven foot tall, possess unreal strength and could could easily strap a couple of rifles to his shoulders, have a rocket launcher on his back and a couple of pistols attached to a belt. The decision to only let him carry two weapons (regardless of size, of course) was purely to supplement the gameplay by demonstrating that no one weapon is better than any other in all situations and therefore to encourage the player to prepare themselves for all situations best they could by balancing their choice of weapons.

Disregarding the health system is more realistic in that MC really shouldn't be able to take more than a couple of shots under any circumsytances when his shield is down but it will be a decision based on what effect they have on the game. Maybe I'm just speaking for myself here but I always found having a health meter on Halo a bit strange as once you're shield's down, say in a multiplayer game, it doesn't matter if you manage to run over a health pack in the same way as body armour would in Goldeneye, at most it would keep you alive for an extra couple of shots, while a head shot would still kill you instantly, yet it seemed like it should be more valuable, at least as valuable as hiding behind a corner for five seconds while your shielf recharges, rather than being comparativley useless. I can also see it making me a play a lot more carefully: even on Legendary I often take my chances and piss around a bit safe in the knowledge that I've got full health and were I to lose any there's a pack right around the corner anyway.

That's what I think and why I'm slightly against the idea becuase the traditional health system influences the way you play in any game, if you are low on health they you are more careful, but if you are high on health then you are more adventouras. Depending on how the new shield system actully works, I think it's a bit sad that Halo 2 won't really have this as you'll seemingly very rarely have very little health and you be stuck in a system wher you always have maximum health but (if like the system in Halo) it's allways going to be very quick and easy to lose all that health and die with a couple of well placed shots from the enemy (considering in Halo 1 the plasma pistol charged up would totally take away your shield...).

With the new dual wield system the health bar becomes even more moot as the amount of shit flying at you will be doubled, so, even should you grab 'teh magical health' you are going to be looking for the next pack over and over again, probably in even more regularity than the first game. That's boring as well as unrealistic so I'd rather adjust my tactics and get on with the game. Only the people who havn't played the game are pissing themselves over this no health and there is nothing to be concerned about. The people who have played it say it is not a problem.
