Fuck me!

I bought this game last week. Played it until i saw every single stage and played a few of the mini games... and now i cant stop playing it. The handling is amazing and the stages are perfection encompassed. The game packs a real challenge as well.

Game of the year IMO.

;)

Love it!

I find it interesting that I haven't even been motivated to touch Burnout 3 since getting this.

<_<

Anyone seen the FHM review of it yet, they totally lay into it, calling it a "pointless update" but I can't remember the rest of the article, just kinda annoys me these 5 line reviews which the average, man on the street, casual (whatever) gamer will read, as a bad review here will invarably do the game more harm than a bad review in the specialist press (sales wise) IMO.

I think it finished with the line "Fun? Shit no!"

Quality journalism there :D

Was it written by Daniel 'Five minute play' Emery? LOL.

Not sure only had a quick glance through last night. It must really wind you up though as a lot of potential customers who would have picked up the game on impulse or whatever, read these reviews and get put off?

I try not to think about it too much, if I did I would probably go mad. Thing is, you don't really read FHM for games reviews do you :D

If you are a casual gamer, you're more likely to pick up the box based on the fact it has a Ferrari on the front, rather than hold stock in FHM's review. Thats my thoughts on the topic.

I can tell you now that a lot of 'casuals' won't even read it, 'cos they already know its shit from experience of the original. A lot of friends and family I've had around seem to be of this opinion, strange as it may seem.

So, you all like a shit game, no?

After playing some more, I have to say this game is the Acers. Seriously. I really didn't expect to like it, but it's the fact that I can go from a to b in 5 mins and then do another route, all to glorious music and absolutely amazing visuals, with the best arcade handling since RRT4... This game is fecking ace. Fair play Sumo. Job's a fucking good un!

you're not wrong! Bonus stages are filmed in jerk-o-vision, but other than that it's all good. Loving the Live despite the jumpalicious manifestation of your competitors.

Sorry I can't think of anymore annoying made-up adjectives this morning

Just thought i'd say I played this last night up at Cactus Jack's house and its fucking awesome!:angry:

If i had an Xbox i would go out and buy it now. So much fun and it takes me back to enjoying the Ridge Racers games on the PS1. Pure arcade racing at its best.

The thing is I was hooked after one go so god knows what that bloke from FHM was on about. He probably never even played it. The tit!

Yes, it's well worth getting. I'd probably go so far to say it's my fave game of the year. It's just pure fun.

Completing all the missions will take an age, getting AAA on them all even longer. If you have Live! and happen to be a time trial freak, you won't need another game. :)

Any news on what these Chase Cards do yet? I noticed you seem to get one for every 4 AAA's that you get. (Thats probably already been posted).

i dont own an xbox im actually getting one for my birthday

is outrun2 worth getting though because when i get a CRYSTAL xbox^^

i can get a different game with it

so is outrun2 worth getting?

and is it a long game?

thanks :(

Seems to be a Marmite game... I love it because I'm an arcade whore. Time Attack Live is addictive as hell (it's loads of fun racing against fellow forumite's ghosts!) and the challenge mode is awesome... not forgetting OutRun2 arcade mode and I've only just started on the Heart Challenge arcade... a wole host f unlockables... and – hoping, hoping, hoping - some downloadable content in the future (nudge, nudge, S0L ;) )... brilliant game.

At least try it on the GAME 'rental' scheme :P

I'd be playing it a whole lot more if I wasn't so hopelessly obsessed with 3S at the mo'.

Lovely game (especially Arcade mode), but some of the challenges are just downright infuriating.

Quick question, which may have already been asked but I ain't trawling through 53 pages...

What are the chase cards for? And on the gallery select screen, where you can look at cards, records, codes and play the original outrun, it still has an arrow pointing to the left when I get to Outrun. No other menu has this. This indicates to me there is something to the left of the original Outrun but it won't move to show me? What gives?

I'm tempted by this as its £20 at GAME online today, mainly due all the praise i've read on this forum but also as I have just ordered Live and don't have too many games for it. Anyway, the thing is, I didn't think the demo was that good so will I be any more impressed by the full game or is it just more of the same?

Well it entered at a relatively high 4 (albeit behind games which had been out for ages) in the charts, but since dropped to 8.

In short, the game has sold fuck-all and GAME have apparently overstocked something terrible.

I wanted it to do well, but I'm a realist. I knew it was going to bomb. I just wish I'd left it a while and got it for £20...

Its a bloody brilliant game.

Anyone wanting to know how long it could last you, im 35 hours + in to it and 8 AAAs away from completing the mission mode totally. Ive had far more fun than with Burnout 3, the missions are far more interesting and varied.

This is easily a top 5 Xbox game. One of the best releases of the year and easily the best racing game released this year (if not quite this generation).

Anyone with a problem with this game hasnt given it enough time.

No suprises sadly.

Fuck all marketing and against BO3 it has neither the pizazz, hype or the benefit of being published by EA. Oh and it's on a console which already has it's fair share of decent racers.

To the man on the street at first glance it looks simple, dated and boring compared to other recent titles.

I had a quick go of it last night and once again i find it a bit meh. The other cars (and buses) go nearly as fast as you which seems odd and ruins the weaving in and out of traffic and to be honest it seems pretty dull as you always seem to be going in a straight line with the odd power slide turn, you dont feel like your on a track, it feels like the original out run. Which i guess to some is a good thing.

I cant see how it could be any fun on live, there doesnt seem to be any sort of competition and i could image its like driving by yourself for the most part.

The mission mode how ever is where the game really shines and ive been enjoying it, nothing too taxing but better than the arcade game.

Oh and even on the first level i noticed...well not slow down but frame skipping as a past a bunch of trees.

If the buses and cars were going slower, it would have made avoiding them a pain. It's obvious to me that AM2 experimented with the speed of other traffic until the game was as fun as it could be. Which is fun indeed.

Its a good game - I'd wished I'd waited to get it cheaper though. Its really horses for courses. If you are not into Time Attack (which personally makes me yawn) then after getting so far into Mission mode it does lose its staying power. Online aspect is ok.. there just isn't a sense of anyone givin' a shit about winning or competitive racing like say PGR2 or Burnout3. Its good though for a bit.

And don't mention the music ;) (until you unlock the 1986 versions) - god why oh why doesn't it have the option for me to play my soundtracks? Baffling really.

Hey the answer Rev S. Campbell gave was incredible, maybe the best reply to a stupid review I can remember! Great depth of analysys and I think that if words can kill, that reviewer would be in the third or fourth heaven (or Hell , by SEGA fans...) by now.

Anyway, I am completely addicted to Outrun 2. Just saw a Ferrari 360 Spider in my street this morning and I supposed that there was a beautiful girl on the right side. I was wrong , because the beautiful girl was actually driving it!.

Great great game.
