Rin
The F1 grand prix really does mess up the learning curve of the game. But it's not that difficult, you're just punished for making mistakes too harshly. Get first and hold it. Don't boost unnecessarily. It's the only time where I used the zoomed out camera angle, makes it much easier to see things coming. Even if you do lose the sense of speed. Robo_1
I'm sure this forum didn't used to be full of pussies. And if there were some, at least they did they manly thing and didn't admit it. Rubbish. Did you miss the "new gamer" revolution. It's OK to admit your shit, just as long as you don't use the easy setting from the beginning

Lazychu
So have most people given up on this on Live? There haven't seemed to be many people on my friends list playing it in the last few days. Shame really. Still, Outrun 2 next week (and a decent live interface). Shame really. Still, Outrun 2 next week (and a decent live interface). Me and manicman for two will be on tonight, I see pop monkey and mad kiwi are on now. So, no, I think its still proving popular. The good thing is, the much maligned EA interface, actually makes joining games outwith the forum that much easier due to not being able to jouin games in progress. Polmon
what do you get for getting a gold in the F1 gran prix anyway? A car, I think. I forget which one, you can check under 'Driver details > Garage' how to unlock all the cars.
TheSlugFormerlyKnownAsNap
Jesus Christ. Today I've been playing Burnout 3, literally all day long, literally. It's grown into an obsession I haven't experienced in ages. My thumbs hurt, my left arm is painful and tingling up to the elbow. My eyes feel like burning coals. My head feels like it's repeatedly punched by a pro boxer. It's incredible what a difference the custom soundtracks make; the complete works of the Prodigy instead of the default trash does wonders for this game. The conclusion of this rambling? Maybe GamesTM was right after all...

Rin
After playing the game when I first got it for about 10 hours straight, you then begin to see a few problems. Firstly; not being able to control the camera during aftertouch is really frustrating. Next; some levels punish you way too harshly for taking risks. Also it seems that you can drive the race of your life and still have the AI hot on your tail, and yet crash a fair bit and you'll never catch them. Doesn't happen throughout the game, just on a few tracks. Would be nice to have the 'catch-up' work both ways all the time, though. And the soundtrack is simply horrifying. Thank God you can turn it off. And don't bother putting your own on, because the sound effects are INCREDIBLE. Leave them on and nothing else. Oh and can you turn the crash replays off? I think I heard you can. At first even when you crash loads, you're just in awe. But then it really starts to grind. Oh and one last niggle, it's the only game ever where you actually want to watch a replay of your race... but there's no replay function! The blistering pace, sheer rush and agressive opponents make it special enough, though. 9/10 is just right.
superfunk
I haven't bothered with it for days. I had a particularly bad evening where I couldn't get a stable game for hours and I haven't been back to it since. What a waste
Eighthours
The last couple of times I've been on LIVE with BO3, I haven't been kicked once. True, the friends interface is still unbelievably shocking (you know your mates are playing, but they don't appear, etc etc), but at least the game's now playable. ColinMac
This is odd - as I'd read all the threads about the broken live stuff before I got the game and had resigned myself to just playing it in the single player mode. However, I've both hosted a game and played in a number of other servers - and never once had a problem. You guys got the live ports opened on your firewalls yes ? Seriously - I've not had a single problem. Now that doesn't make much sense....
Sng
There is no problem with going on Live and getting in a game, no problem at all. Where the problem is, is getting in a game with people on your friends list. That's where the problem lies - not being able to join a game in progress, not being able to set friend slots, etc. Basically, the chances of being able to get in a friends game as soon as you sign in are slim to none. You gotta find the game in the lobby and wait for it to open, then hope that in the mad scramble to join the game (with the other ~3 people doing the same as you) that you actually make it in. JedEvangelion
There have been several server-side patches since it was released. You've missed the worst of it. Things seem to be getting better but I still get told I'm not on XBox Live, told the people I'm playing with are offline, get hosted sessions crash me out to the game's front end sometimes when they finish, and still have a ranking of '-----'. It's better than it was, but unless there's been yet another patch since last Thursday, it's still somewhat broken...
zxcvbnm
I've given up with the circuit racer GP. I'm not interested in a game that is frustrating and not fun to play. I'll stick to multiplayer instead now I've completed the crash modes. Its such a shame such a brilliant game turns to shite so quickly.

True, the friends interface is still unbelievably shocking (you know your mates are playing, but they don't appear, etc etc), but at least the game's now playable. It depends on when you play i think. There are certain times when EA can't seem to take the load and the Live experience seems to divebomb. That's what gets to me. No other Live enabled game (that I've personaly tried) has had an issue like this. EA are fucking huge so can't say they don't have the money to handle peak demand. I tried on a Saturday afternoon. Do we share servers with the US?

Nope its not. up until Sat night I have been having no problems on live but since then its been terrible. have you tried recently I just this minute have returned back to my PC after attempting to get a go on live. Guess what no joy at all, I think something seriously broke this weekend? Or their tuning it at the moment. And all the lobbys seem very empty? So I'd say YES something is rotten in Chertsey today. Maybe you could use you EA contacts or they just gonna use the router bullshit line.

Sng
Can't remember to be honest. Beertiger
nice to know the game still has problems and that EA are denying them. i've been thinking recently about a certain other racing game released soon and how i think it will be remembered fondly in time to come and then my thoughts turned to Burnout 3. for a game i invested 16hrs in before giving up it leaves me with a weird feeling that i don't actually care about it anymore. have you ever got that before? so weird.
