Dimahoo
Well it'll sound shit if you don't turn the DJ off. (but then you have the Xbox version anyway!)

Spunky Monkey
Still waiting for my copy, by the time it arrives you'll all be playing the next xbox live game of the week.
jonnyalpha
You forgot the embarassingly titled, 'Dear diary, my teen angst has a body count'not that it matters. Franz ferdinand aside, the entire soundtrack just blends into one mess of samey crap. Where's the electronic stuff? even allowing us to have the soundtrack from burnout 2 would have been quite nice. That's a quote from "Heathers" isn't it? Classic film if only they hadn't cheered up the ending and let the whole school blow up.
SeanR
I can jump in and play more games on Live with B3 than I can any other Live game... That's because it's "teh nu"...

Dont worry fella this game's a keeper - and with the Party Crash mode and the prospect of playing the MiddleEast tracks I'm sure there is tons of mileage left on this little beauty. Va va vooooom indeed

Sng
That's because it's "teh nu"... No it's because you can only join a game if it's not mid-game meaning you can get in a game and not have to wait ages for them to finish before you start playing. The worse is when you wait nearly 10mins for SCPT to finish (or 3 laps of PGR2) only for them to come back and the host to go, "right, I'm done now. Bye!". With B3 you get online, you see an avaliable room, you get in it and due to the way it's setup, rooms do fill up quick. Then you just play... hurrah! Ludachrist
Game crashes are getting fun! I was doing the GP that has the US Circuit racers. I was first in the points standings, and on the last race of 4. Then it crashed. Thats all that work down the drain then. Buggery. (Can't complain as I downloaded it, however.) Dimahoo
I've not had that problem once, although i can see why it would be an issue, given its speed.
Sabreman
Funnily enough, my copy hasn't crashed once since the first day I had it (when it crashed 3 times in the space of a couple of hours' play) - and I've played a heck of a lot of it since then. Maybe the disc is just really sensitive to dust? I gave it a wipe but it was perfectly clean as far as I could see.

tyler
I get my crashes playing off the HD though, so thats not the problem. The amount of disc-read errors I've had when playing off the HDD his baffeling. Online on this is truly GREAT Online front-end is truly BROKE...twice
decider
Never seems to crash on me when I'm not using a custom soundtrack.
Spacehost
I still dunno the problem you all seem to have with the auto-save. You finish an event, after retrying x number of times, return to Tour mode, and then it saves, and confirms it for you- what more do you want? A 2-second pause after exiting an event, followed by the game continuing with no messages?

A 2-second pause after exiting an event, followed by the game continuing with no messages? Messages are fine - it's the unneccessary continue prompting (requiring a button press) which really starts to annoy after you've been playing for a while, as there's just so much of it. autosaving.... autosave successful... continue (button press required)... There's so much of that sort of thing in the game; e.g. restarting a crash attempt from the pause menu when you fuck it up goes like so, with each continue requiring a button press, when all you really wanted was to get straight back to the car at the start position: restart... loading (loads crash preview again)... continue... loading (displays amounts required for medals again)... continue Getting back to the crash nav when you've finished an event takes 4 button presses for race events, 3 for crash events; as the autosave confirmation/stats screens will stay there until you shoo them away yourself. It just doesn't flow very well.
Dimahoo
The PS2 auto-auto saves. I'd turn it off, but if the game crashes, well....i'd have no PS2 full stop.
Tailfly
I agree with insin entirely, they are small annoyances but they could of been put right so easily. If you could turn off the Crash replay or even better have it as a selectable option in the menu it would remove so much unnesesary loading and allow the player to jump straight back into the game. Ludachrist
I'm on 97% progress now, and need just 2 more golds. However I need help on the Hotrod preview lap. I manage the get round using burnout all the way and never crashing, but I still only manage bronze! There must be something i'm doing wrong somewhere, any tips on how to get good times from a hotrod?
Paradigm
97%?! Blimey, how much have you played it? I've had it since Friday and have only done 57 events so far, and I've loved every minute of it. No crashing or errors here.

You're at exactly the same point as me, except I've done the Hot Rod lap with half a second to spare. You need to take the corners tight and drift as little as possible, The Hot Rod will take those later turns (with the barriers and boxes) at full speed without drifting. And you need to get up that hill at the start with a drift, and stay at AT LEAST 130Mph until the top of the hill or you may as well give up there. The Rod doesn't accelerate on hills at all, so you can lose about two or three seconds there.

Paradigm
I wouldn't know that there are literal hotrods, I haven't got that far. The description just sounded similar, and the Indy car is pretty hotrodish

The description just sounded similar, and the Indy car is pretty hotrodish I've not played the hotrod, but they show a picture of it in the loading screen. Anyway - Hotrods are usually old American cars that have been modified with big fuck-off engines and fancy paint jobs. I'd post a picture of my father-in-laws one, but I can't find it right now. Instead how's this for an example (which is almost the same as his one):
Paradigm
I know what hotrods are, don't worry. Seen plenty in the flesh. Also, g00se is reading this thread. He worked on this game, dontchaknow Great job, g00se
