Burnout 3

I love the whole unlocking system of the game, it really rewards you consistantly. Not too much that you unlock everything, and not to little that nobody is going to get it, it's a good balance. As for the whole learning curve, it seems to be bang on, it's nice an d gradual.

As for the soundtrack, it's not that bad actually, some of the tracks suit it. But then again, a lot of other genres would suit it as well (bit of jungle/gabba anyone?). The DJ is really annoying, and is a constant reminder of how the series is being bum-rushed by EA in front of your eyes, but it's bearable (the DJ, not the bum-rushing).

Oh, and the lobby server is completely broken, but that's for another thread.

I really like how when I finish a race I just need to keep pressing A to get to the event I've unlocked, I don't have to trawl through the menus to find it.

If only I could be bothered ripping some music to the hard drive, it's takes bloody ages to do one CD, doesn't it?

Is anyone else getting annoyed at the aftertouch camera?

Woo, look as the camera spins round showing me crash and giving me no chance whatsoever of seeing my opponents approaching and taking them out. I have got aftertouch takesdowns, but it seems to be more due to luck in the camera pointing in the right direction than any skill on my part. :(

I think you can turn it off? Pretty sure I saw in the options/settings screen the chance to get rid of it.

I'm not annoyed with it yet cos I haven't actually played much single player except for Crash.

That's where my time's been spent. There and online. I actually really like it online now.

Yeah good races Soong - it just cannot be beat with a full room and a good pack of demon racers. Not had many problems today tbh - really enjoying it. Not cained a game this much in such a short space for ages. Looking forward to playing online with some of the later tracks.. they are awesome.

Don't understand the ranking system tho - my rank is under 2500 yet I'm quite average at the game i reckon.. wierd.

Still getting Outrun2 tho.. but Yes - this game is the daddy :(

Okay, to save some time...

It was pointed out to me by someone on live that you could roll backwards over the start line and then forwards to clock some very impressive lap times. (as low as 00.00.00).

Haven't seen it done, haven't tried it, but the times are up there.

I saw some 16 second laptimes on the EA site, I guess that's how they did it.

Lame.

my eyes hurt and my right hand is painful in the palm of my hand.

Mine too.

It's quite disconcerting to go make a cup of tea after a long session and find the walk to the kitchen not blured at the edges. Trouble is I have to play it on a 50hz 14in portable and need to get my head just a couple of feet away from the screen so I make out the specks in the distance (before they become huge 18-wheelers).

At least it's colour :(

Man, at the moment I've only played this game on a 14" !

Not even widescreen, with sound coming through the puny TV speakers. At 60Hz though. Cos I'm at my girlfriends, see. My wireless bridge is being replaced so having the Xbox here is the only way I can really get on Live.

CAN NOT wait to see what it's like on a decent TV with sound going through my amp. Mmmm!
