Burnout 3

Decent tracks on Burnout 3:

Ash - Orpheus

Burning Brides - Heart Full of Black

Funeral for a Friend - Rookie of the Year

Futureheads - Decent Days and Nights

Jimmy Eat World - Just Tonight

Motion City Soundtrack - My Favorite

My Chemical Romance - I’m Not Okay

Sugarcult - Memory

The D4 - Come On!

The Von Bondies - C’Mon C’Mon

They're all passable.

BUT! Orpheus (as generic as I think it is), should have been the track that backs the intro, it's perfect for it. The shitty song that's is there instead, is fucking terrible.

What do the headlines do?

And the photos, are they actually generated in your race, or just some pre-render pic when you takedown in the given area?

Collect all the headlines and you unlock the Firetruck.

Forgot what you unlock with all the signature takedowns. They're just pre renders.

At the risk of sounding very stupid, where is the NFSU2 demo in Burnout 3? I've looked in driver details>extras but can't see anywhere else where it is likely to be.

Only on the PS2 version...

thankfully.

It's bad enough having HUGE hoardings scattered around certain tracks advertising the bloody game without having to play it as well.

After my last post it made me think...

How do you all feel about the EA cancer that has spread it's fingers throughout Criterion's colon?

By this I mean the totally offensive advertising hoardings showing various EA games coming soon. For some reason it really pisses me off. It's bad enough having the controversial EA Trax but at least you can add your own custom tracks as an alternative (PS2 owners - this means volume down to you!!).

Maybe I am just bitter that EA appear to have gagged and fucked Criterion up the blow hole and injected there commercialist man paste right up 'em...

Couldn't care less, to be honest.

Now, if they start updating them with "Content Downloads"...

The XBox online component is a bloody shambles. Took an hour to get a game, when I did, I got suddenly dropped after two races with a "Cannot communicate with XBox Live." error. Add in the game crashing twice while trying to join games for no apparent reason and I gave up. This was my first experience ith Live and if it hadn't been for sticking PGR2 in and getting a race within a few minutes, I'd be convinced the whole Live thing was a disaster and not worth my money.

EA really need to sort it out, it's going to hurt them and Microsoft if everybody's first Live session is like mine.

(edited to fix typos)

That's a good point with the downloadable content idea. My main beef with game advertisements is that after a few months it dates the game. This would solve my 'issue'. Hell footle, you've saved me a mint in shrink bills!

As decider said earlier..the Ridge Racer soundtracks suit the game PERFECTLY!

Along with an assortment of cheesy 90`s dance "classics". Like Praga Khan - Injected With A Poison

I've got a custom soundtrack devoted entirely to the Ridge Racer series and various Sega racers.

I'm using my Industrial/Metal one the most for BO3 so far though. Something about taking people out to the sound of Judas Priest's "Painkiller" or Rammstein's "Feuer Frei" just warms the cockles of the heart. :(

This corker of a game just gives gives gives.. since friday night I noticed along with online racing I've played it for 11 hours

Really got into the Party crash mode last night too - genius.

So no official response about the online stuff from EA? God I wish Ubisoft had bought Criterion...

I am enjoying Burnout 3 although it is not without its problems. It has already crashed on me. But the sense of speed is awesome and you cannot help but grin helplessly as you notch up takedown after takedown. Definitely good fun, but not 10/10 worthy.

the original soundtrack is indeed 'punk rock' for virgins. the best soundtrack in the world for it though is acid house...got a dj slipmatt 88-92 double cd, and you proper get in the zone.

United Dance Anthems '88-'92? Great CD. So great I've got two copies of it.

The default soundtrack is terrible.  Thankfully EA put custom soundtrack support into the Xbox version, the first of their games to feature this.

Tiger Woods 2004 (and I'm sure 2003 too) has custom sountrack support. Not exactly fully fledged custom sountrack support but you can certainly listen to your own tunes in there.

My God. Road Rage is pure sex! 29 takedowns in one race is my current record.

This game is brilliant.

22 takedowns in my first :( I normally hate car games, since I can't steer, but as this one offers shiny rewards for crashing in the right places, I'm actually really enjoying it.
