Remind me to burn Anderson alive next time I see him. >:I

Oh, and the events of Alien happened in "less than 24 hours" to quote Ripley in Aliens. Hence why they only manage one meal and don't have to be worried about getting eaten alive whilst sleeping.

Less than 24 hours, not less than 24 minutes as sounds to be the case. Besides, it's fair to assume she meant from the moment the chestburster killed Kane, not the moment of implantation.

hmm, i dunno i actually quite like most of andersons films, shopping was the first one i saw and it completly blew me away, very stylised and entertaining and i hear its just come out on dvd too. Event horizon was easily one of the scariest films ive watched in a cinema, and soldier was just big dumb fun. "im going to kill them all, sir" as for resi evil, i loved it too, sure its not much like the game but its good nonetheless.

and now we have avp, apart from its slow start its a very entertaining film, not the "classic" that alien or predator fans probably would of hoped for, but still bloody good fun to watch. and i think as soon as you put a vs. in a title then of course its gonna loose its classy style. (see freddy vs jason, another mindless but excellent film imo)

Just watched it... DI-A-BOLICAL. Everything about it was awful - script, pacing, dialogue, you name it. The fights really were WWF stuff, it was like Paul Anderson took a big steaming dump on the Alien franchise. Words fail me :(

Edit - oh yea, and it really DOES go some way towards ruining the Alien franchise by placing the aliens on Earth all along - WTF? Everything Ripley struggled against the company for is shattered because Earth was an alien breeding ground in the past <_<. And Weyland was a frigging pussy! He's supposed to be the big evil head of the company, yet they tried to make him some kind of likeable character. Utter arse.

It anyone finds a decent quality torrent of this, can they let me know (via PM or however). The many Suprnova versions are awful, dark, blurry rubbish and hurt my eyes like stinging nettles.

If I’m not allowed to ask this question, then please pretend this never happened. <_<

Just watched the screener. What a waste of time...

The entire thing is shot so murkily that it becomes frustrating, there is no excitement, even in the thick of the action. I didn't care about any of the characters, so watching them get picked off was completely unaffecting.

I suppose seeing it as a standalone monster movie it has some merits, but only in terms of the concepts it has stolen from the other films. As a follow up to two franchises with genuinely classic instalments it is a failure.

The ending was signposted way off, though it makes no sense at all when you think about it.

I actually quite liked Event Horizon though. If that is the one with the sphere thing underwater. And those snake things.

I remember the sphere, but underwater? Snake things?

I actually think Event Horizon is very decent film up to a point, and then it dies on it's arse and turns out to be shit. Kind of like AVP, actually. Anderson uses the "the studio cut all the good bits out!!!11" excuse with every one of his films. They're all shit, and they'll still be shit even if these so-called 'director's cuts' ever get released. Just fuck off, Anderson.

Oh, and watching AVP prompted me to dig out that audio file of Paul's hilariously funny 'interview' on the Howard Stern show. I've uploaded the best bit here in case you never heard it (< 350Kb) :D

EDIT: I just realised that you were talking about 'Sphere', Icebox- not Event Horizon.

Haha, that's great, best part was when Stern's cohort announced 'look man, Resident Evil was COOL', and a brief silence ensued as Anderson tried to figure out whether she was taking the piss or not.

Yeah :D You should try and get hold of the whole thing- it's all good :D Robin said recently that she also liked AVP (as well as Resident Evil), but I don't think Howard has seen it yet

Hey there.

"If I was bad at making movies I wouldn't do it..."

But he obviously doesn't think he is bad at it. Hos movies are successful. They make a bunch of money, made him a millionaire and got him a movies star/model girlfriend.

Something tells me he ain't gonna stop anytime soon. I don't think you would either.

Despin out.

Very true, I think his attitude towards his films are best summed up with his response to Resident Evil being cool; "Well, it made a lot of money".

Something tells me he cashed in his artistic pride a while ago.
