It's linked at the start of this thread.  :)

Weird, when I first saw the AvP clip I just got the scrap and not the stuff before it...

I bet the film's going to stink like a monolithic turd though.

As for Alien 3, Fox were so confident of it's world-changing-ness, it was the first ever instance when they changed the 20th Century Fox anthem at the start of the film. I'm not too keen on Alien 3, but it does have a fucking ace intro.

He's not exactely positive though, is he?

Rather – he’s moved up the ladder a couple of rungs to making an entertaining piece of shit, rather than just plain ol shit. This one is a turd that resembles something you know, and as a result… you get amused, you smile… Hell, depending how crass you are, you might even keep it around a bit to show various friends, or take pictures and post em to the internet. It’s that sort of bad.

It's WWE, not WWF. Don't act like you don't know! :(

I didn't think it looked too bad - not as bad as people are saying, at least. But I know it won't be good.

I think what Knowles is saying is that if it were any other characters it would be horrible, but because it's Aliens and Predators, you get at least some enjoyment from it.

Ah well, at least I have the books/graphic novels to fall back on...

Just finished watching it.

Unbelievably, it's even worse than I imagined.

It's just so stupid and so predictable. But not in a cheesy, fun way.

Some of the action's okay, but that's about it.

Probably worth a download, if only to see how bad it is.

I watched some of the torrent that is going around, but it’s pretty awful quality so I don’t know if I’ll bother continuing.

From what I've seen it is just another teen-friendly, mindless, action movie with horror overtones. The same ilk as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Ghost Ship, Resident Evil and that sort of movie.

Except AVP has less characterisation, depth, and plot than even those. If only it didn’t feature 2 of the greatest sci-fi characters ever, I could’ve watched it with guilty pleasure, but bringing these 2 icons down to cinema-fluff level to is just… wrong.

It does look ‘nice’ though, set and lighting wise. And of course, there are many things to get Aliens fanboys cheering, such as a character that only speaks in Hudson quotes, and bullet-time face huggers. Marvellous. :D

I think both a Hudson-a-like and bullet-time facehuggers will do the exact opposite of making fanboys cheer, unfortunately :P

unless you were being sarcastic....

Somebody be a darling and do me a copy - I truly balk at the idea of paying to see it and thus possibily contribute to the likelyhood of some other idiot producer giving Anderson another project to completely fuck up.

This is exactly why I'm going to download it. Buying a ticket is just encouraging them to give Anderson the reigns - HE MUST BE STOPPED!!!

ok, i must admit apart from the yawnsome opening the film is actually quite entertaining! sure its nowhere near alien quality, but i did get a kick out of watching that alien get its face sliced off by the predator(oh my god this "slicing" thing really is doing the rounds now- cube, ghost ship, 13 ghosts, resident evil, equilibrium spring to mind)

and it certainly sounded like the audience enjoyed it too. gotta love them yanks.

the rounds of applause after the fight scene were a bit over the top ;)

Why are Americans so stupid at cinemas?

In the AvP cam torrent, they're whooping and cheering at practically everything, and they actually applaud the movie on several occasions. :)

I was shouting at my computer telling them to shut the fuck up! ;);)

I'm thinking this film will be terrible purely because of the record of Paul Anderson. I actually like Event Horizon, anythin else he has done though is terrible. Resident Evil was dire, a sequel is in the works, but why is it he gets all the game related franchises and then ruins them?.

Kudos to the guy for trying but imagine if AvP was made by a collaboration of staff from the Alien series and the Predator series, that would be something to watch, I haven't even seen that clip, but I can imagine what it is like.

As ever, the classics are the best.

I dont know, Mortal Kombat was good considering the game itself had no story, Resi Evil on the otherhand was an absolute disgrace; the games already have a great storyline so making a film based on it should of been easy, instead he decides to write his own version of it and just fuck everything up. And it now sounds like he has done the same to tha Alien and Predator stories; I have not read them myself but the comics are meant to be very good so why could he not base the film on one of them instead of writing a new script from scratch  He is a very bad script writer, if he was given a script written by someone with talent then maybe his films would get better.
