That sounds good, what is that comic called? is it available in one volume?

I'm really sorry, I just can't rem.

They are in my loft somewhere, but it will be ages before I find them again

I even looked on amazon for them but couldnt be sure from the description I'd be sending you to the right place.

However, any Dark Horse comics of aliens or aliens v predator will be very enjoyable if not downright excellent

What's with the Alien's teeth?! I know Americans really go in for their dentistry, but it looks like it's been using Ultrabrite FFS!

"THAT. LOOKS. FUCKING. WANK."

What exactly looks "FUCKING WANK" in that clip?

Despin out.

Erm...

The silly fat-looking predator.

The silly way he jumps to his feet.

The stupid fighting styles that look like they've come from a 3D beat-em-up

The way it looks like a WWF bout (as has been posted many times before)

Just looks wank to me I'm afraid. If you think it looks good then fine, I don't have a problem with that and hope you enjoy the film, just that to me personally it looks piss-poor.

I'll reserve final judgement till the film's released, but I'm not particularly enthused by it after that clip.

It sounds even worse than most of us feared. People get attacked by face huggers and the embryos have grown, burst out and reached adulthood in the space of an hour, the Preds are shit without their cannons, and...oh, there's one very spoily review which reveals some truly hilariously bad bits that are almost beyond belief.

He may be a nice guy but Anderson must be stopped from ever working on films again.

Read them, sounds like just about everything I feared, and while it seems that someone did read the comic books they only removed one good idea and made it worthless by not paying attention to the context of how it actually happened, argh....

Ah well, at least Despin should enjoy it.

"When it's time for a chestbursting or a tongue-death, all we get is a typical cut away. Gone is the colorful profanity that was so much fun to listen to. Even the token "ugly mutherfucker" line gets cut off half-way through. This is exactly what we all feared: A franchise film that looks and feels as if it were made for little kids. I'm not saying an R-rating would've automatically made this good (far from it)...but it would've at least given us some fun carnage. "

In the old “Alien” flicks, getting straddled by a facehugger, which leads to a chestburster, which leads to a full blown adult alien, used to take days.

I'm not so sure about that. While Alien, Alien 3, and Alien: Ressurection are a bit vague on the timescales, it seemed just a few hours from embryo implantation to chestburster, and then maybe a few hours more for the alien to grow fully.

I always wondered what the story was with that woman in Aliens - how long was she cocooned for? Even if she wasn't captured right away, she must've been in there for a week at least. Certainly, Cameron cut a scene from the film where Ripley finds Burke in the hive and gives him a grenade as he could feel 'it' moving inside him - Cameron realised that he'd speeded things up way too fast.

Well, in the original, Ash is attacked and taken to the infirmary, with the implantation and birth spread across a number of scenes... it is vague, but I think it's filmed that way to incinuate the passing of time across a number of days. The same for the rest of the movies too.

Anyone seen the "Face Off" video clip? I only saw it the other day - the end of it is actually quite cool, though sadly is the only cool thing I've seen so far from clips of this inevitable train wreck of a movie.

It's linked at the start of this thread. :P

Unsuprisingly Fox are keeping this seemingly shameful movie from the critics. There have been no press screenings. I'm not even sure there is going to be a premiere.

There are still no reviews on Rotten Tomatoes yet, and the movie is out in about 12 hours...

Hmm, I'd always interpreted it in Alien as being a few hours between implantation and mess, but now that I think about it in Alien 3 the thing was inside Ripley for days (although being a queen it may have been exceptional). In Alien Ressurection it was somwhat vague but most likely a while.

I'm pretty sure that development once "out" is fast, though (see Aliens' inquiry).
