Anyone else noticed amazon in all their glory have cocked up?

They paired halo 2 ltd ed box with halo 2 reg ed as purchace partners,

wtf is the point in that?

no1 wants both editions [by no1 i mean most people].

you dont even save much.

would we contact amazon about this?

plus half life belongs on the PC, it helped create the FPS mouse/kbd success.

Its like CS on the xBox, jsut not worth it when its so good on pc.

some games should stay where they belong,

hl = pc

cs = pc

halo = xb

ssx = ps2

multi platform games... pah!

I was unaware that i'd ever made a coherant post, let alone one in a WWII post over in OT...

Perhaps someone is trying to be me but failing to abuse the english language with quite my recklessness and abandon?

And no, CS is best on a PC where you can bitch at steam, hackers and lag much more effictivly than you can on xB.

That's because THERE IS NONE on CS on Live.

What a load of rubbish you spout. I'm not spending £1000+ upgrading my PC, just to have to download loads of patches and all the rest just to play one crappy game.

I'll use my Xbox, which will definitely play it, and have no hackers on it.

ive a PC, all i intend to do over the coming months is get a new graphics card for about £90 which when spread accross the cost of the number of games it will enable me to play prob will onyl work out at an extra fiver per game... which is well worth paying when you consider the fact that youll be able to do far more with the game, play online without having to use a controller (which works for halo but sure as hell fucks things up when playing half life).

You can change settings and manage the game far better... plus the graphics will be as they were meant to be, not some ported version which will prob run at a lower FPS, a lower quality and will be on a tv running god knows that resolution and will provide little ease of use when it comes to digitaly recording your games for use in video making which i like to do.

Just think, half life 2 at 1280x1024 in all its 85fps full physics glory with a keyboard and mouse.

or, with a controller which will unboubtably not be up to the task, on a tv which may provide a better envoronment, but the asthetics and sound (debatably on the sound) will have gone to putt.

so no, half life 2 will be better on a good pc, and yes it sucks if you have to pay a grand to upgrade enough to play it well (which you wont as that is a VASTLY exadurated figure) and yes, fair enough playing it on the xbox gives far less hassle over graphics settings or running it. but like i said, its been designed for PC with a kbd and mouse. end of.

But cs, no. not on a console. ever. dont even try to argue that xbox cs is better than pc.

PC points in favour for cs:

Admin, say commands and the many variations there of, server control, settings, steam, clan settings, the ability to mod the game (sprays, decals, textures), CUSTOM MAPS!!!, literally millions more opponents on millions more servers with millions more frags going on all the time,

against the pc: hackers (which really dont effect the game since VAC came in.. you see one perhaps once every 6 months?), lag - if you dont have broardband you cant play, but then you cant play on the xbox either can you?

So please, get the idea that console versions of CS are better out of your head, the only thing they are good for is increacing the number of people who play it on pc, as the transition rate from console to pc for cs is quite high.

I'll have a quick go:

PC Counter-Strike will not run at more than about 15fps on my PC, making it virtually unplayable.

Counter-Strike on my xbox is alot more fun due to the reason I can actually get some frags, everyone has headsets, no messing about with video settings, everyone has the same resolution of 640x480 and most importantly no hacks (Not even a new one every 6 months).

To me that makes Counter-Strike a much, much better game on my Xbox.

Have you played it on the Xbox? Why shouldn't I argue it, because you're a stupid 'tard that can't accept that a game on a format other than the original is unplayable? Rubbish, frankly.

I tried Counterstrike on my 1.4Ghz Duron, 384Mb RAM, etc, and it didn't work.

It works perfeclty on my Xbox, no lag, voice communcation, no hacking - it's perfect.

£1000 is vast exaggerated? I don't think so. You say £700 - I say that's not far off £1000.

How would you know? Halo works better on a console than a PC, and ALWAYS works.

Aesthetics - they don't make the game, but I don't see why they'd be worse on a console. This way, I can also sit on the couch and play as well.

Sound - I have a 5.1 system thankyou.
