That Guilty Spark thing

Great cannon fodder. Flood = Good, The Library = Bad. The first sections you face them in prove this.

343 Guilty Spark simply has to return, tho, he was just such a great game character, probably because he was so un-gamey. Like so many aspects of Halo, he just didn't feel like your average "evil goodie".

Ugh. I sincerely hope the Flood don't feature in the second.

1) The floaty cabbage types were really laughable as they harmlessly floated towards you and self-destructed, wiping out any other cabbage-fiends nearby but actually doing no damage to you.

2) The big guys just kept getting back up and hitting you after you shot them. I really can't be arsed to shoot the arms off of every corpse I make.

And I hope the Sentinels don't come back. Possibly the most uninspired enemy ever to feature in a game. "It's sort of like a flying robot, with a laser." REVOLUTIONARY!

Obviously, as one of the 3 people (approx.) who like the Library level, I also like the Flood.

Think they're great.

The panic I still suffer when confronted by one of the buggers who has a rocket launcher is chronic.

Also, I like the squelchy noises they make when you shoot them to pieces.

All games need squelchy noises.

1) shooting a rocket at that bastard dose fuck all as was proved on the maw.

2) the sent's are a laugh. they were immence. ever killed one with a plasma grenade? the act like grunts and kill eachother... mucho fun!

3) yes the fucker will come back, why would they have made a point of his survival if he isnt gonna crop up?

4) check the audio out-takes on bungie.net > theres a long one of 343 humming n shit and helping marines... oculd be from H2 where he helps kick some covie ass?

5)

Flood vs. covenant vs. those big ape things vs. Marines vs. Sentinals vs Ninjas on fire in a hospital zone.
<- the ape things ARE the covies! and the Ninjas will so CLEARLY be on the side of the MC...

6) I am offically placing all the money on earth on there being another (perhaps 2) rings in halo2. Offically.

They actually exploded because of your shield.

Once that was gone they then attached themselves to you and sapped all your energy.

My only problem with the flood was them exploding things, you couldnt kill them as no matter what they would pop. They pissed me off most, the little buggers wernt so annoying as they hardly hurt you and a grenade or shot gun took care of them.

wasnt the flamer orignally ment to be the solution to the flood problem?

but after they had "issues" with the behaviour of the fire and what would catch and what wouldnt and how muc hdamage it would do etc... they took it out (that and time issues)

and it left a very small inblanace toward the flood?

not saying the shotty dosent solve the problem.

I like 343 Guilty Spark, hope he shows up in Halo 2. I always reckoned he'd be a bit confused now. After all, he was programmed to destroy the Flood by activating the Halo, and would do whatever it took to do so. Master Chief destroyed the Flood by blowing the Halo up, so now Guilty Spark probably has to come to terms with the fact that his programmed objective has been completed by somebody else, by methods he couldn't have imagined.

I reckon he'll turn up, in one way or another. Wondered if the humans would ask for help against the Covenant, and whether 343 would agree or not - his stance would likely be why does the human race have any more right to survive than the Covenant?

Quite simply. The shotgun is the best way for dealing with The Flood. Sure, most of them take two shots, but I nicely placed inital shot would make them stay down. Of course, those ones that exploded sending out the smaller Flood things came in very useful when they next to a few other of the Flood as they would destroy everything in its vicinity with the blast (and if there was more of them, a nice chain reaction was casued clearing your path). The smaller Flood things were easily picked off with anything else (keep your shotgun ammo for the bigger ones).

However, what I tended to do a few times was to set up the Flood and the Covenant to take on each other and you could just sit back and watch the fight and then take out any of the survivors.
