I would have done, but my contract might have ran out by then thus I won't need to take the time off.

BUT if I am still working i intend to get both the Thursday & Friday off

I've taken the Thursday and Friday off. I'll probably buy it at midnight if HMV or whoever does one of those events. I'll studiously avoid having my picture taken, obv

One things for sure, I'm not going to work, though i've started to get a slight cough, that if i'm not careful just might mean that I have to take the day off on Novemeber the 11th due to being sick !

Do you think places like HMV would open up at midnight specially for it ?

I know they do it with consoles, but for one game ?

Loads of stores opend for Zelda 64 IIRC and probably a few others. I'd actually be very surprised if at least Game didn't open early.

I think HMV and Game will open at midnight. From my experience Gamestation are too lazy But they'll probably join in for this to.

I skipped College when I got my Xbox to play Halo and PGR, luckily I had finished all my work, I also had a week off work so that was nice, I really had time to enjoy the Xbox. When it comes to Halo 2 though, with myself being at University and my Xbox being at home I think it would be hard to get to play it, besides, if I was offered Outrun 2 or Halo 2 (I'm getting both anyway) I would take Outrun 2.

But that is just me.

In my view, I work like a gimp most of the time and have little time for games. When games come out which deserve my full attention, then I need to take the time off to appreciate them. So, you see, it's not that sad. Not at all.

Plus, my office is being demolished in November to make way for a shiny new rebuilt test station with posh new offices, so I will officially be stationed at Dover for 9 months, 40 odd miles away.

See... the Halo2 Ltd Ed box with the dvd and the nice shiny silver tin comes out a few days later... so atm im stuck between a rock and a hard place on weather to wait a few days, sacrifice "early players" kudos and having the box with the dvd and all the sexy things that the tin intails.

The popular opinion seems to be - pre-order ltd. edition tin from Amazon, and loan a copy of the normal edition from Game for 10 days. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Grabbing Halo 2 first as it comes out, will grab the DVD box set a little later.

There's a hopefulness that it'll be available, though I've been lucky with so-called "limited edition" stuff before.

I pre-ordered the Limited Edition Halo 2 pack from Amazon and will not be able to play it until I get time off from University which means that Outrun 2 and Burnout 3 will also go untouched for a while.

Couldn't give a stuff about the limited edition set, so I just wait until near the time and see what the best price is.
