2 weeks today (July 16), there's a show on BBC2 about Gil Scott Heron. Chuck D and Mos Def are on it.

They've been showing that on BBC4 for a while now and its well worth watching.

There was another good thing on BBC4 during the blues season where they had Chuck D and Common jamming with a load of blues artists which was amazing for the blues bits but the rapping bits were a tad cringeworthy.

That's an amazing programme, if only to see just how fucked up Gil Scott-heron is these days. The man looks like he went to sleep in a skip fulll of broken glass and hammers, which someone then kicked out of a helicopter.

He was the voice on the "You know when you've been tangoed" adverts, in case anyone wasn't Deloreaned out with that particular fact.

Still, it's a great programme. There's a bit where they show a live performance of 'Gun' that's just absurdly jiggly.

By "Pharcyde", who do you mean exactly?

On the subject of Pharcyde, does anyone have any idea what Fatlip's collabo with Chali 2na is called? I heard it on one of my buddy's skate DVDs. The hook is something like "What you gonna do?"

In fact, I'l bet that that's the song title. Does anyone have it? It's phat!

I would like to point out now that all mine and Esars mixing was done live (as it should be) BUT the intro I did was multitracked on Cool Edit because...you can make it sound cool as fuck.

My Porn Theatre Ushers EP came this morning. I've only had the opportunity to spin it once, but I'm looking forward to hearing it again already. 'Blah, Blah, Blah' is one of my favourites, as well as 'Catnip' and 'Oozing Pestilence'. Some excellent hooks as well, so thanks for that recommendation which came a few months back now I think.

Downloaded some Killah Priest tracks earlier from 'Heavy Mental'. The Priest is definitely one of the finest Wu-riders to MC, and some of his productions are truly excellent. See 'B.I.B.L.E.' and 'From Then Till Now' for an example - the latter of which turns into a lovely dreamy track with some excellent use of female vocals in the background.

Haven't heard anything from anyone else about 'No Said Date' yet. I'll assume you all haven't checked it out or were disappointed, then. Ah well.

EDIT: I should also mention that I really enjoyed the Mudmowth track Ben posted. I actually really liked the hook as well, so I think it might just be one of those things you either love or hate. Interested in hearing more from that particular EP. Cheers.

Yo Esar, just got the mini-disc in the post. Highly amused at seeing "Das" as the recipient name! It's sounding wicked man, just got in from work so I need to sleep but I'm gonna record it into my comp later today. So will be finished by tomorrow night! Are we still gonna put it on tapes or we gonna do CD's? Because some strange people say they haven't got tape decks (thats just so not hip-hop <_< ) so we may have to go for CD's in which case your cover design will need to be CD inlay size.
