Personally, I'm seriously anticipating thief 3, and it's out 2 weeks on friday.

suppose its all the more reason for me to start playing this now.

What would you compare to / what is it similar to?

It's like a decent version of Splinter Cell, with simple but effective AI, plenty of shadows to disappear into, large (sometimes too large) open ended maps and a fairly dark and intruiging plot. :D

Hi,

I ve got this lying around, and was thinking I'd like some single player japes after overdosing on live. Whats it like (i loved deus ex). Is it really something special?

Yes, yes and yes again.

One of the most atmospheric games evar.

Right im not sure if its becuase im playing a warez version at the mo but there doent seem to be any intro video/explanation the game just starts and im told to get someone out of a mansion with no explanation.

Also I ve reach the room in the masion where someone else is supposed to open it apparently I tell them this by making a bird call with that whistle, where abouts am i meant to stand and whistle?

Your version mustn't have the videos - the mission objectives should still be listed though, by pressing O, and shown before each mission. Once you've found the cell and cleared a path to it, you have to go back outside to where you started and whistle to Basso (he's hiding in the little room by the front gate) - he walks really clumsily and loudly, so make sure the path is clear first

What a few people don't realise either is that there is a pretty good mod scene for Thief2 as well. Some fantastic Thief FM's (Fan Missions) that wouldn't be out of place in the game itself, the intro's to some of the missions are even better then what LG done themselves.

Check the links below for all your TFM needs.

Make sure you download 'DarkLoader' first so you can play the TFM's.

Thief 3 really does have a lot to live up to once you've played a few of these missions.

I got this and ( as usual for PC games with me ) I played for around an hour and then never played again.

It did seem quite hard and not as easy to get into as the Hitman games ( which has a great map and clear objectives ).

And some day - some day, we might even get to see Thief 2X
