What is on your pre-order list at the moment ?

All I REALLY want is Halo 2 and Outrun 2. Nothing else matters.

However, add Pool Paradise (XB) and Full Spectrum Warrior to the list if you must.

Then there's the usual September - November deluge of wallet bursting proportions to look forward too!

I honestly can't remember the last full-price game I bought. £40 is an awful lot of money at the moment, so usually I just wait for a few months/years to get things. Pays dividends though, picked up FFTA and Eternal Darkness for £15 today.

I love these pre-release type threads. It's only after I read them that I see just how many good things are being released. I don't tend to pre-order much...like many I'll tend to hold off until actual release, and then try to save a few bob here or there in the coming weeks when prices drop.

Hence my picking up Splinter Cell 2 for £22 for my US Xbox!

Yay.

I don't see any point to most of these pre-orders. Pre-ordering the big games, fair enough. MGS3, Halo 2, a new Zelda, new consoles, it's a good idea, they might run out on the release date.

Anything else - what's the point? The chances of GAME or whoever running out of copies of say, Paper Mario 2 when the game hits the shops is practically nil. I fully intend to buy this game on its release, and I'll do it by swanning into the shop, picking up a copy, and buying it.

Actually, I think it's probably the wrong way around.

I'll gaurentee that you'll be able to get Halo2, MGS3 and other big name games everywhere, with no hint of stores running out.

They're sure fire sellers (or one would hope...), so orders will be big.

But then you have Paper Mario. I'll certainly be picking it up, but it's not going to sell in huge numbers. GAME and other stores will know this, and order smaller amounts.

If anything, pre-order the niche-market games, as once these are gone, it's tough to pick them up. My years of finally finding Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy testify to this!

Exactly. Witness the recent Harvest Moon on Gamecube problems.

I preorder as I use DVDBO, which means if you don't preorder you probably won't get it.

5% price reduction when pre-ordered.

Not a great deal:

Archer Maclean's Pool Paradise for XBOX. I thought this was coming out ages ago and had forgotten about it.

GT4: Prologue special edition thing that I got vaguely excited about in a bored moment - might cancel this.

Red Dead Revolver for XBOX.

All on Play.com.

I will probably order the Halo 2 tin when it appears but for games I am really looking forward to, I usually go into Game to get them on day of release, hence no PES4, GTA: SA etc.
