Lots already mentioned...

David Bowie - Wild is the Wind (Cry)

The Eels - Climbing to the Moon (Cry)

Tom Waits - Flowers Grave (Sob)

Tom Waits - Lullaby (Boo Hooooo)

Tom Waits - Rubys Arms (Uncntollable Sobbing)

Diving Comedy - Dogs and Horses

In fact Tom Waits carrys more emotion in his voice than any other singer I can think of. He's simply amazing.

I'd suggest The Smashing Pumpkins - Today, and Radiohead - Street Spirit.

There is of course a number of Radiohead songs that would qualify for such a list.

Belle & Sebastian has a ton of songs that I'd nominate: We Rule the School, Mary Jo, Sleep the Clock Around, Dog on Wheels, The Chalet Lines... I could go on.

Air - All I Need and You Make it Easy are both terribly beautiful.

There's also a lot of Cash's songs from his American Recordings series that are quite beautiful although perhaps not in the traditional sense. Still, songs like I See a Darkness just gives me goose bumps.

Anyways, do you have that live version of "how to disappear completely" on your PC fearbat? Would be very grateful if you could send it my way! :)

It's a Minidisc recording of a radiobroadcast that has been copied over to a CD player Hdd, Quality is not that bad though. If I manage to upload it I'll PM a link to you.

List threads rock me hard.

Anyone said these ones yet?

Gorecki by Lamb; oh man, the general blissed-out feel of it all. It still messes me up.

Mayonnaise by the Smashing Pumpkins. I'd have to put this over their aforementioned tracks, I think.

Teardrop by Massive Attack. An obvious one, but it gets me every time.

Best leave it there..

Teardrop by Massive Attack.

I would've agreed three years ago - before working at Brookside, and having them play it in every single fucking scene that included anthony murray. He murdered that fat ugly bully, but I could've murdered the entire production team.

That's an excellent site Koyoshiro, thanks for the link. Of the versions I've managed to download off there, none are the version I have. I'll hunt around the site a bit more for it, but if I cannot find it there I'll try and copy it to my PC for upload ...somehow.

Viorar Vel Til Loftarasa by Sigur Ros

No idea what the fuck it is about, but it has this class Piano intro which is nearly 4 minutes that I think is arse kickingly beautiful.
