Was there only one london date on sale? I imagine there'll be another anounced if that's the case.

Yeah, there was just the one. Sucks to have seating only, but didn't wanna risk there not being another show even if there probably will be. I just can't believe it wasn't announced by anyone other than Star Green on their dodge looking website with no other details about the gig whatsoever that they were going on sale today.

Does anyone know what the venues like for seating? When I saw Radiohead at Earls Court we all jumped down to the floor.

hammersmith is the worst venue for seating in london by far.

it is a resonable view you can see the band, but the seating area is patrolled by jack-booted heavyweights who scream at you..

"sit down you cunt,or your out."

went to see rocket form the crypt there years ago and it was a very depressing experience, avoid.

however this is of little concern as I recieved a text from my friend informing me of his purchase=two tool tickets for the 14th!

Just so note if you like Tool you should download some Deftones such as Passenger. I've never really listened to them before properly but I can see it now :P

See what now? If you're talking about a similarity to Tool it's hardly suprising given the song you've mentioned :P

I don't think they generally sound much like Tool but there's definitely a sort of kinship there.

The great thing about that song is the way Maynard pisses all over Chino's vocals.

Can't believe I haven't seen Tool live for five years. Not even the Glasgow Academy can ruin this gig - now they just need to play Eulogy, Opiate and the Salival version of Pushit.

I think I shall buy them in the near future.

There were alot of fake covers floating about. This was officially released and is being used on amazon so there's a possibility that it is real.

The Album title "10'000 days" and track listings were posted on teh offical site also but as you say it's Tool.

Vicarious

Jambi

Wings For Marie (Pt 1)

10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2)

The Pot

Lipan Conjuring

Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann)

Rosetta Stoned

Intension

Right In Two

Viginti Tres

I desperatly want them to play in Ireland ;)

Edit: In the mean time http://www.alexgrey.com/ great art. Did the Lateralus cover.

I saw them headline Ozzfest in Ireland a few years back... they were absolutely shite, on stage they look like the most boring soul-less band ever. Disappointed/10

You are talking through your arse, they were fantastic at that show, i was so relieved walking into that show and hearing that Ozzy(who really wants to see that decrepit old fool potter about the stage for an hour and a half) couldn't make it so Tool would be headlining. The video screen stuff was amazing, Mayard Keenan painted blue and just wearing a pair of DM's was cool and the percussion bit of the show where dave lombardo and the drummer of system of a down joined them onstage was mindblowing.

They're even better in a smaller venue speaking from past experience seeing them at the SFX.

And for anyone who cares there's a strong rumor that they'll be playing dublin on June 10 as part of the overpriced download weekend in dublin.

Who ever said that the first tool album you hear ends up being your favorite i totally agree with, got anemia when it came out (the one with the cool moving cover) and i still listen to it quite regulary even now 10 years later. Forty Six and 2, Eulogy, Hooker with a Penis, shit the whole album still kicks ass today.

I think Tool are great, have bought tickets for this tour and yet think they've been rubbish live both times I've seen them.

I know I'd regret not going since it'll be the best show EVER if I don't go but I still think I'll fail to be engaged. Acknowledging and audience's existence would go some way to improving Tool's live "show" IMO. A series of repetitive animations doesn't work for me as a substitute.

I'm surprised at the regularity that the animations are cited as being the most incredible thing EVAR, seems a bit simple to me.

Nine Inch Nails on the Fragility2.0 tour did it far better IMO.

Despite this, fingers crossed for some great gigs later in the year.

...apparently we share the exact same taste in Tool songs!

I think Horribleman was pretty much on point with the favourite LP more than likely the first you got into, it applies to me for sure. I never managed to really dig any record other than Undertow.

On an related note, did anyone here hear / enjoy the Tool / Melvins collaboration, 'Divorced' off the Melvins Crybaby LP?

It's near 15 minutes of osmiumic molten raawk joy. The Dale Crover / Danny Carey drum battle is ridiculous.

Come to think of it, most of my favourite Melvins records feature Adam Jones.

Philosophers are clearly the best kind of Tool fans.

They're actually the 3 songs that I really wanted to hear last time I saw them, and didn't. So not fully representative of my favourite Tool tracks; Lateralus >> almost every song released in the last decade (that I've heard at least, obviously).

In thinking about it, I still want to hear them play No Quarter as well.
