This is the cel I got from Ghibli today. Excuse the makeshift photography and added pixels due to using Notepad as a backlight.

The film in the theatre was Looking for a Home, the one with the girl who goes on a walk and gets to a run down old house, and leaves offerings of apples to things along the way. The packed theatre loved the human-made sound effects.

I got one from Totoro when I went. I also got to see the Mei to konekobasu movie (the one about Mei and the baby catbus). Honestly one of my best days in Japan, the Ghibli museum will knock your socks off if you're even partly interested in animation, and obviously their movies.

Got some souvenirs too; bought an Art of Nausicaa book, as well as a picture book of the movie I saw for Blobcat.

Hey, recently gotten into anime big time. Started watching Cowboy Bebop and loved it, and then Metropolis. Picked up Akira on Blu-Ray and that was amazing. I want to watch Full Metal Alchemist next as it looks fantastic but really I'm wondering whats the best way to watch it.

Has the series been released on Blu-Ray? If not then quality wise what would be the best way to go? I'd normally just get it on DVD but it seems like something to be appreciated at its best more than anything.

Any advice would be mucho appreciated. :)

Just start watching the new series as it is quickly covering the first section of manga using one episode at a time to cover key moments. Also, they're available in HD and the opening song is infectiously :)

Finally got to watch the rather hilarious Ghost Stories dub in full this week instead of relying on youtube and odd episodes I had. Good for a laugh, still cant believe half the stuff they got away with.

Really want to watch some more anime and have many lined up when I eventually get to move near Asura who's just got all of Bebop and Kenshin he's been meaning to rewatch fully with me for years.

Can't wait to rewatch Gankutsuou and somehow finish GTO.

Just paid a fair whack to get the full series of Rurouni Kenshin off someone I know who was selling it; sadly though I only just realised that he didn't quite have it all, he was missing "Reflection". Even so it'll be a while before I get that far.

Seen most of it before mind, love it. Brilliant series, fun, action-packed, never drags and it has some good comedy moments too.

Well I finally watched rebuild for the first time with the blu-ray release of 1.11. I don't remember much of the TV series so it was pretty refreshing. Also, Rei seemed to have emotions this time. I also read Mirrai Nikki, and recently i've watched Sword of the Stranger (awesome), the Escaflowne Movie (not so good).

Yes. Massive. And I know that without remembering anything about the first except the bare bones. For example, there are now 5 or 6 EVAs/Pilots now or something.

Edit: I also remember i'm currently watching Library Wars.

I really must get around to watching Rebuild at some point. Is there any any major change from the series, though?

theres some major changes in the second half, but the majority is a shortened version of the first 6 eps. The second should make some pretty massive changes, judging from what we know. Three and four will likely be almost entirely new

I also read Mirrai Nikki

How far have you read? One of only two series I'm struggling to keep going with (Deadman Wonderland is t'other) because it seems to be one awful event after another. That and Yuno fucking terrifies me.

I like confusing people today %-)

Been reading 20th Century Boys (manga), it's really really good. Finished 10 of 22 chapters today.

It's from the same Mangaka as Monster, and share the same mysterious supervillan plot so far.
