I'm following it too, although ironically, I'm not seeing any of the current shows while in Japan so I have some catching up to do when I get home. Nice background cameo from the two from School Rumble in one episode. Has the guy constantly asking for salt been developed any further or are they still ignoring him?

I'm liking it so far (only 3 eps in mind), but I hate it when shows start with a episode featuring random events and don't start telling the story until the second episode. It was funny, but clearly this isn't meant to be played purely for lols. I think the biggest surprise is the artwork, it's very late 90s. Arashi herself is fairly Clamp (X), and Hajime is very Detective Conan. Not that I'm complaining

The Misato Katsuragi News Project (Katsuragi Misato Hōdō Kikaku) software culls the daily news from real-life politics, the economy, the anime industry, and sports. The software then uses the voice synthesis engine from Cellius to have Misato read the news blurbs in realtime as if she was the newscaster for a television program called Nerv News 24.

It works well. They obviously presume that the majority of viewers will have watched the first attempt or read the manga and wouldn't want too much time spent on recapping. They've also covered their arses by letting anyone start watching it for the first time and not miss anything out. It also looks lovely in HD and for some reason I find the opening track immensly infectious.
