Todays rumour/news roundup

*Sgt Frog has actually been giving a dvd release date in the west. Only taken 3 years since it was announced... They'll probably still overtake the fansubs ;)

*Funimation has licensed spice and wolf, so will probably announced the second season about 2 weeks after it airs (as usual)

So one would hope. Given that the current furthest subbers on it started on it when the show itself had already reached around the 150 episode mark and afaik work off chinese/hkdvds. I'd love for it to happen, mind.

No I don't. That's why I put "possible" list. I stole it from a guy on neogaf who stole it from another forum. Not really all that fussed enough about when the new episodes are airing to go looking for a guarrantee that the list is right.

Edit: Fargal, in case you've missed it, the subs for the second Genius Party dvd are out. No idea what's on it though.

I went to the London MCM expo yesterday. I took this picture for you, Meh.

Damn, I should have met you whilst I was there. Didn't know you were going! There was a great standard of costumes this year, I particularly liked the 3 Darth Vader/Storm Trooper guys in suits. As Darth and his posse were walking past he pulled a lightsaber out from his top and used it as a cane, it was pretty immense. Shame about all the overpriced rubbish! I got a copy of John Clements' Schoolgirl Milky Crisis and a Howl's Moving Castle art book.

Fargal, in case you've missed it, the subs for the second Genius Party dvd are out. No idea what's on it though.

I was pretty happy when I found the Terratag stall. Paul Nicholson, attached, was really cool to talk to. He's the guy who designed the Laughing Man Logo for GitS and we had a long chat about the history of anime, mecha designs, etc. Also I got a cool Gundam design t-shirt.

If I knew Paul was there I would have loved to have talked with him. I noticed that they even dropped his name in GITS. I actually did an interactive flash Terratag flash animation last year for Uni but have yet to show him..I'll drop him an email at some point.

Ah, I saw that the day the Haruhi raw came out, I figured it was probably just someone trolling to get my hopes up. Well, hope he/she/it/they decide to go back to Haruhi.

Are there any licensing issues concerning the new series?

Really? Seems like this torrent was newly added to me. Although I only check tosho and not stuff like nyaatorrents.

I don't think there is. But again I haven't really been following much anime news lately. My source lately is Mr Jeff. ;)

I've been checking too, and uh, because I haven't been watching the series, there seem to be a few AFK releases of Aistheruze Baby come out lately, which I thought they gave up on aaaaaages ago. I think the first of the new releases came out on the day that Haruhi aired, so I reacted based on the fact that every now and then a troll file gets put up on the toshokan! ;)

Glad I'm proving useful to someone. Here's me thinking I've been posting too much. I should thank you and Hackign(I think?) for passing along your enthusiasm of Cross Game though. Marvellous program.

So far, apparently both Kadokawa and Bandi have both declined to comment on the future status of Haruhi in North America(which'll mean here as well). I'd imagine they'd probably be waiting to see how well the second series does before they take the plunge but can't imagine they wouldn't do it.

Been hearing a few odd Haruhi rumours. Some along the lines that the next book will be out next month and others that this isn't the proper second season of it but more an extended version of season 1 and that there's still a "proper" second season in the work. Like all things, probably best to take these these with a huge pinch of salt.

P.S, hurry up Genius Party Beyond torrent.

No I mean book 10 over in Japan which has been on hold for about a year and a half. Book 2 in NA is scheduled for October I think?

Although, even if it is released next month, I still have to wait for Baka Tsuki to painfully dribble it to me like they're currently doing with the Spice and Wolf novels.

Just got Genius Party Beyond, Koji Morimoto's Dimension Bomb is one of the most amazing looking animations I've ever seen! Couldn't make any sense of it though.

Arghhhhhhh what the fuck. Definitely the wierdest out of the bunch. Worst one was probably Toujin Kit. Really enjoyed Gala and Moonrider. The latter made me wish it had got an entire series of its own because it was just so much fun.

I think the problem with Toujin Kit is that it's so slow. It keeps cutting back to shots of empty rooms. It does however look stunning and I liked the idea of the world in which it was set, I haven't looked at any of Cannabis Works though.

Moondrive was hilarious and awesome, though Yuki's voice seemed really out of place. Agreed that it needs a series of its own, I absolutely love the style. Wanwa the Doggy blew my face off and I ALMOST WEPT
