I'm about 3 episodes into Full Metal Panic. bloody hell, it's all kinds of amaze. Usually it takes a good few episodes for a series to find it's feet but this.... :(

Who should I get Eden and Basquash from?

Also: Shin Mazinger 1st ep makes no sense whatsoever (a good way to start watching new season stuff then!)

gg/frostii (although frostii's releases are slower) and umai for Basquash.

Shin Mazinger's first ep is akin to the first 5 minutes of Gurren Lagann where it's basically the entire series thrown together in a really odd way then the second episode starts right from the beginning.

gg seem pretty good, and are fast. Frostii's subs are spot on... at least as far as I can tell..

Another vote for frostii/gg on eden and umai on basquash.

Also agree with Jeff about it being a silly way to do things regarding Haruhi. However, I won't be muttering about it for very long if it does turn out to be new...

Just finished StrikerS, actually! Everything up until episode 17 or so was very slow and generally not that great although there were occasionally some good bits, such as Signum coming out of nowhere to punch Tia in the face for being such a fucking pussy, but after episode 18 it was great. If only to see SUBARU PUNCH, Nanoha once again befriending the shit out of people, Tia becoming the motherfucking Batman, and general awesome moments for the last 7 episodes straight.

Also, it was kind of depressing Nanoha's family and old friends never got shown, let alone mentioned in passing once. Ah well, it made up for it in the end.

Ah man, I got a box of awesomeness today. 10 Japanese newtypes from 2005 and 2006. Cost me £16 with free postage. And it cost £12.60 to send :(:D :D

But ah man, language aside it pisses all over Newtype USA. Double the pages, about triple the information and it's just epic. I'd forgotten how ridiculous it was ( I bought a bunch of mid 90s ones from a second hand manga place when I went to London on my first Anime shopping trip in 2002 :o) Shame I can't read any of it! 34604473_Facepalm_kyon.jpg

I'm on a reference library building exercise, otherwise I wouldn't bother. I'm picking up the big english language publications here and there as well. ebay ftw. Can never have too many sources! i'm also picking up manga anthologies but thats for another thread :D

The problem was by the time it hit StrikerS, there were too many people. You had the original cast then they added like a billion people for StrikerS and the only worthwhile one out of all of them was Vivio. The series just kind of plods along only slightly lifted by White Devil Nanoha teaching Tia the fucking rules until eventually they decide to get rid of the restricitions business and let it get back to what it should be about; solving all problems with Divine Buster beam spammin'. The whole Nanoha fight onboard the Ark was amazing though.

Shame the 4th season(still only in manga form as yet) is still set in that time period. Everyone was hoping for a series set between A's and StrikerS.
