You're forgetting the 'pioneering' use of computer animation in Golgo 13 in '84 :)

Fuck yea helicopters.

Bwahaha, I ended up using that in my dissertation. Was basically a section about computer technology being put to bad use in animation.

It was really strange, since the framerate of the thing seemed lower than the traditional animation that was playing - and christ, it looked horrible.

Oh my god, they were the days. I recall something like 20mb Dragonball realplayer episodes. No wonder my sight's rubbish.

Brings back memorys of 13mb subbed dragonball z from a 5 year old, jumpy vhs real player files from kazaa :)

:)

Of course, no ones actually trying to do that, it's purely a hunt for examples that reflect that eras storytelling, animation and general style of the time. I can think of several examples from each decade, apart from the 90s where all the immediate ones that spring to mind are from 95 onwards. For every other era the examples are spread across it, and reflect the times. I couldn't think of one for the early 90s myself, but I thought you guys would pick something that didn't occur to me. The fact we can't come up with 1 example of a early 90s show that does this is worrying, it suggests the years were barren - at least, looking back.

I'd categorise the late 00's as, in the words of Meh, "paedo shit".

Way to ignore the 90% of the content then :D

I've just finished watching FLCL. It was almost completely baffling which I suppose helped me to empathize with the main character, although I was far more confused about the situation than he ever was. Still, it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Abenobashi is next on the list.

I think it helped that I watched each episode of FLCL at least twice before moving on to the next. It must be impossible to take everything in the first time you see it.
