Actually it isn't. People who have read/seen both (the only people who can make an informed decision) all agree that the manga is better.

And as i've already said, I'm not saying it isn't, (I clearly stated that wasn't my issue) I'm just mocking meh's usual insistence that the anime is rubbish simply because it doesn't follow the manga (which if like any other manga thats adapted early, probably hadn't even really gotten into it's "proper" story at the time - hence why many series differ largely in adaptions)

Anyway, lets move on. I still havent gotten around to finishing Gundam, Gintama is my current poison.

I met Jonathan Clements today as he was doing a lecture at our Uni today. Lovely/funny chap, also I now feel inclined to watch Macross.

I think he's a tosser of the highest degree, but have not personally met him. It's probably that online/published material/tv vs real life thing. Unfortunately I've just given him some money as I need the latest version of the anime encyclopedia for wikipedia work.

Apparently Yahoo Japan have confirmed they want to make a TV DRAMA to promote Eva 2.0. They confirmed it today after people thought a poll they did yesterday was an April's Fool. It's either a very good fool, or they are quite nuts.

So, Haruhi started showing again in chronological order. Some call it a rerun, but I see the description Kadokawa actually used is "all over again" and there is more to it. They have now said there will be 28 episodes, where it originally had 14. So, er, S2 is go? With rumours that new episodes will be mixed among old ones, keeping everything chronological. Kadokawa are keeping quiet.

I'll believe it when I see it. Seems utterly ridiculous to spend all that time going "no new series, it's a rerun" then just casually slip in the second series into the re-airing.

Subs are appearing for the new season. Queen's Blade sounds as ridiculously stupid as it sounded before;

And yet reportedly, sales for the Blu ray editions have shot through the roof. Despair.

I've been burnt one too many times by the rumors in the past. I'll believe there's a second season when I'm actually watching it with my own eyes.

So it's just as I thought: they made absolutely no use of Mr Bushido whatsoever, in the end. That either means they're stupid or they're holding him back for the movie, and even THAT seems far-fetched. Anyway, it was an ok ending - OK...

I've admittedly only seen the first 20 - 30 mins or so of Afro Samurai and whilst it's enjoyable enough it reminds a lot of Samurai Champloo for some reason except nowhere near as good. Am I wrong with that comparison at all ?

A little. The Hip Hop and Samurai elements are similar, yes. In terms of quality though, these series are worlds apart.

I've neared the end of my Gundam spree. Although, it's been a relatively low paced spree over the course of many months :wub: I watched 00, then G Gundam, then all of UC except ZZ and Victory. I finished Gundam X this morning, and am now starting on Turn A, then i'll give SEED a go and then check out the Gundam Evolve thingies. Then I suppose i'll wait for the 00 movie or give ZZ and Victory a go. Oh, and I need to watch Macross 7 at some point. I've also watched Nanoha, on StrikerS now. Akira, 5cm per second, Perfect Blue, Kara no Kyoukai, Toshokan Sensou, New Getter Robo and Mazinkaiser are also high on my priority list.

So the new season has rolled in. Goodbye; Druaga S2, Maria+Holic, Gundam 00, Rideback, Minami-ke, Tales of the Abyss, Clannad After Story, Casshern Sins and Birdy Decode S2.

This is what i've watched and will watch so far of the new season. Have I missed anything?

K-ON 01: I like it, funny and cute. Hopefully some good music will come out of it.

Phantom Requiem 01: Found it a bit boring, to be honest.

Queens Blade 01: :)

Just finished Planetes, wow - what a story, every single charecter and loose end plays a part in the the final - it's weird I didn't expect any kind of strong storyline at all (in fact I just expected the usual slight romance you get) and boomf it hits you with everything. Not an episode wasted, what a surprisingly brilliant anime.

Kind of reminds me of Welcome to the NHK in a way (the only other time an anime storyline has mislead me).
