Yeah, cause dumping your wrecked suit with two flat batteries for something relatively intact and with a superior power source is really daft.

Well not that bit per se but it just kinda felt like

after spending all tha time hovering around planning he just decided "fuck it I'll go out in a gundam and fuck everyone's shit up".

Still at least he did that bit well.

Perhaps, but reading the manga should never be an alternative - you shouldn't decide "oh im going to only watch this and only read this". In fact, I'm more likely to read the manga due there being differences, regardless of which is better (I have a "rule" about not reading something thats going to be more or less identical to the anime).

It's just that your opinion of the anime is the exact opposite of the Mangaka, who was the one that suggested they went a different route, enjoyed what they did, and sat in on various discussions giving input into what the anime should do. It amuses me

I'm sure she also enjoyed the heaps of cash being dropped on her fucking head.

Mangaka tend to be critical of their anime adaptions. There was a huge fuss over Kare kano for example, and Watsuki asked the Rurouni kenshin team to change a few things because he wasnt happy. If it was all about the cash do you think Arakawa wouldn't have sat in those meetings and told them to do their own thing? She'd have dictated exactly what she wanted. The anime differs because SHE told them to make it so. If she didn't like it, do you think she would keep praised what they did? No, shed have said she didn;t like it. Money doesn't mean people keep quiet about adaptions of their own work (Ghibli got abuse about Tales of Earthsea from the original writer)

I give up. I'm not waiting a week anymore. I'm going to read the FMA manga and see if meh's actually right again.

The question isn't if Meh is right, the manga may well be better then the anime. The question is why is Meh so relentless in his view, when it's in the minority. If Meh wants to be critical thats his perrogative, I just find it amusing. I've no complaints about the anime, but I've not read the manga to see how big the differences are. meh's opinion often just comes off as more about it being different then what the differences are. It's 21 volumes though so I can't see me reading it just yet

Uh I haven't read any other posts in this debate but I looked at this, but surely if they didn't care about money they'd make sure they weren't distorting how it should be and at least keeping it faithful and at a good quality to the manga instead of doing sod all, being lazy and telling them to do their own thing?

Actually it isn't. People who have read/seen both (the only people who can make an informed decision) all agree that the manga is better.

It's bollocks basically. There are a couple of spin offs, anything else is over excited fanboys making their own rumours. I liked Haruhi and its a good show, but I'm really not convinced it's worthy of the "next big thing" attention it received.

Speaking about the original anime, it's actually a very clever series. Seriously, there's a lot more going on under there than your apparently giving it credit for.

P.S. come off it on the FMA manga, it's aaaaalright, but it's seriously no great shakes.

P.S.S. But Paradise Kiss is great.

Well I wouldn't say it's brick filled trousers amazing but, to use the old cliche, it is better than the anime. Although this is me at chapter 50 out of 93 so it could suddenly turn dire.

Yeah, it's pretty decent, but that's about all I could say about it. I stopped around 75ish, so I don't know if it's suddenly gotten much much better after that but I really wasn't that bothered about all that jazz going on at the time. I think I should probably just read the rest to catch up one of these days.

Who's doing the new anime?

No, it gets better and better. <_<

I love how totally superior the Homunculus are in it compared to the anime.

What happens in 50? It's been a while...

Bones are doing it again although they're going for an art style similar to the manga rather than how it was before. I think it's led to mutterings about quality over some of the scenes shown in the adverts though.

I'm just liking that it all seems a bit more sinister so far;

rather than a bunch of homunculi going around being cunts to be made human (I think that was the anime story?), there's something bigger going on involving Hohenheim who seems a proper evil cunt.

Latest stuff that's happened up to 50 is that Ed's been eaten along with Ling and Envy and Mustang is semi-captured by King Bradley after discovering all the military are in on the evil plan.

I'm fairly certain subbed only version of it have been released in the States. I know they've finished showing the dub on American tv but I don't know if they've started releasing the dub dvds. Best bet is having a gander at amazon.com or something.

Not released over here yet though as expected.

P.s. Still enjoying FMA manga.
