All this talk of FMP and no appearance from Bibly at all. I guess he's dead then. Much like the possibility of a fourth season. ;)

*slaps Mr.Jeff*

I think we are waiting on the novels last I heard. I'm sure KyoAni will let us know when they are ready to do it, I can't see them passing up the chance to revisit one of their more famous works

I know something we can talk about instead.

Lemme guess, April 4th?

I might actually finish the first season by then!

I think there's only one novel left to be published until it's finished. Mind you, unless they split the series like they did recently with Clannad, they'd be hard pressed to finish it in one go since a major event story happens in the novel after TSR.

I was going to suggest Bible Black. What happens on the 4th? Bible Black 3?

Doh silly me. I was of course referring to FMA 2

not being aware of the details make it hard to comment, but I don't think that would be an issue. The preference these days for non stereotypical shonen titles seems to be split seasons. My guess is this is partially for budgetary reasons, and partly due to the development time.

Well I guess it's also partly me over-estimating how much material they can get from Light novels. I mean Toradora ripped through about 10 in a 25 episode series. Although considering the content I guess that wasn't much of a feat...

That said, TSR was one novel which they stretched to a 13 ep series so who knows.

This subject makes me sad due to lack of translatons. I'll go distract myself with some mindless pandering series so I don't have to remember.

End of Day By Day is 2 volumes is it not? And I still think 13 episodes rushed it (again, not read it, but it seemed to be paced too quickly).

In other news I got around to watching some more Gundam 00, so i may actually finish a show within a reasonable timeframe of it finishing. (compare to FMA which I started a couple of weeks after it started airing, and I still have 8eps left. It finished 4 1/2 years ago!)

Ahhh you're right. It was two. As for the pacing it's either bad conversion or just the change in media. A few of the more recent novel to anime conversions suffer pacing issues generally because the additional narrative that doesn't carry over generally pads it out.

Started watching Haruhi and surprisingly I've really enjoyed the first few episodes so far! Late to the party, etc - just that nothing other than Michiko and Hatchin has really interested me lately, and even that feels like it's not going anywhere half the time.

Enjoying Planetes atm. A nice, relaxing anime about what it's like to be a space debris collector. A lot more to do with office politics then anything Sci-fi really.

I recommend it if you're looking for something a bit different then overpowered Mechs hitting each other with their overpowered penises.

Gundam 00 finale:

I'm too busy wanking to give any opinions. You can all wait!

Patrick :o

As for the very end, will the movie be picking that Jovian issue up, or is it one of these movies that condense the series?

Also, something I meant to ask last week, after they mentioned "dialogues to come" with aliens, do other Gundam shows involve aliens at all? This one seems certain of contact at some point in the future, though not in the show itself. The only other Gundam I've seen so far is Seed, which just had that single artifact as the only evidence of aliens. To save me watching Seed Destiny, does the artifact get further explained in Destiny?

Nope, SEED was the first and last to touch on the subject. It's completely forgotten about and doesn't get explained. Like a billion things in Destiny, actually. Back to 00:

I absolutely adored Mizushima trolling the fuck out of all the UC fans by having Setsuna fight against 'old Gundam' and hence the old fans, who just whined and moaned and didn't want anything new; an endless cycle of the old wars, with no future and nothing new to look forward to. Well fucking played, sir.

Speaking of 00, i'm catching up now (on 21, and waiting for the last two eps to dl)

Are all Gundams this confusing/convoluted? Every ep seems to be a new knife in a new back. Oh and I really don't like the use of plot footage after the end credits. Especially when they start the next episode where it left off without revisting it. Seriously, where is the logic in that? I know Studio Pierrott do bonus footage, but it's always some random skit, not plot.

So, 00..

What happened to Graham in the end? Didn't see him die, but then again he wasn't shown in the epilogue

Pretty good series, and they thankfully never went with the whole "song" thing as an ending :-)

yeah i finished watching planetes a week or so ago still humming the theme tune now and then. great series. Not sure what to watch next though.

Nothing like Planetes really, but hands down my favorite anime - Monster? Incredible series, a slow opening but after that it's just pure brilliance through and through. Make's Death Note's storyline look stupid (and I love Death Note). Try it!

Goddamn I couldn't stop hitting my head off the desk at the end of Gundam 00.

The fight between Ribbons and Setsuna was cool, I'll admit that. Even if Ribbons seemed to suffer from the sudden idiocy syndrome of Light from Death Note and get hooked on the solar furnace thing.

I can't even formulate into coherent thoughts why it all felt so fucking stupid and pointless. The ending was like the ultimate troll though.

"Oh hey, remember we mentioned Jupiter way back at the start to be some major thing? What do we do with that?"

"Fuck you're right. I know, lets sweep it under the rug with a happy ending THEN MAKE A MOVIE AND MILK THIS SERIES DRY"

Yeah, cause dumping your wrecked suit with two flat batteries for something relatively intact and with a superior power source is really daft.
