First I was, "Wait, even more hands?" and then it split completely in two  They just keep pulling stuff out of nowhere.

Ribbons wants his toy back, poor chap.

I wonder what trick Bushido has at his disposal now. I'm wondering if it is some kind of countermeasure rather than an offensive weapon.

Empress looks interesting too.

I'm guessing Bushido has twin Tau drives since trans-am is impossible for non solar furnaces. It probably has "high perfomance mode" that isn't as good as transam, but Bushido is epic enough to make up for it anyway. That part of the OP looks awesome.

Also, am I the only one who cherishes the moment when it's peaceful and CB just casually talk to each other? Like this week, on the Ptolemy

Yes.

On the other hand

they killed the man with an awesome name; Bring Stabity. Remarkably little Louise and Saji air time which is good. Tieria finally does something other than get shot at fucking lots.

I still feel it's missing something though. There's no real kind of objective at the moment. Just lots of flying round being shot at.

On an entirely seperate note: Maid guitar.

But you don't get to choose the sub group you want. And you don't actually get the file, let alone in what format you want - so you can't do anything with it - change the typesetting, use it in video editing or picture editing programs (for example, I tend to make animated gifs a fair amount). Can you post a screenshot of the best quality video on the site? I want to see if it actually looks any decent in fullscreen on my 24" monitor. If they can beat the episode 25 I have (750mb) of Macross Frontier, then i'll tip my hat. But how long do the videos take to buffer? And how much anime is there? For example, I camp the BSS IRC channel on sundays waiting for subs, and get it off the bot in 30 minutes the moment they finish subbing it. With the actual file, I can give my friends anime series as well! It's how I got a fair few of them into it, by giving them GL via portable external hard drive.

man, you people are hard to please. For starters these are official subs by the licensors, I'd expect them to be of the same or better quality as the better fansubs. Many of these shows either don't have subbers, or have no real competition between groups (Shippuden is a prime example as only one group had any real speed or following despite the size of the franchise). There are a fair few crazy questions/statements in your post really. I mean, how is the quality a 750mb rip of a modern show relevant to the streaming of a SD show? (especially as Macross Streaming quality isn't far off standard dvd rips (which have excessive filesizes for the benefit in quality anyway), and I was watching on a 37" tv, so you aren't going to have issues with your monitor. I think it spent about 5-10seconds buffering at the start of the episode (before any video appeared on screen, before the Toei logo appeared, and there was no pausing to buffer or running out of video at any point in the 24minutes it was on (on a 6mb connection with torrents running).

People really are confusing the isssue here..... No one is claiming these are a replacement for all fansubs, nor should people be assuming it's being promoted in such a way. There are some pretty bizzare "objections" to this free service. Crazy

So does this mean Galaxy Express 999 is getting a DVD release? Or is it only going to be on Crunchyroll?

It's more likely now then it was before, apparently there is a paid download option of $2 per episode if you want to keep it, which is a good $226 for the series. A sub only dvd boxset release could easily be done for about 2/3rds that if someone is willing to take it on (Toei are doing the hard work, so it's probably cheaper to license it with subs then sub it yourself). I reckon its a test the market idea, the first 30eps were already available at a subscription site for download, so I think they are using such a big name as a tester as the first 30eps aren't costing them any additional money. The whole licensed Crunchyroll route seems to exist to reduce fansubs while still maintaining a high profile for licensing.

The plot lines that got fucked over by the shit hitting the fan during the last quarter of S1 still haven't been touched on yet, if that's what you mean. Well actually, this week we did get somethings resolved. Namely, who was piloting the 0 Gundam at that time. Also, looks like Ali actually has some kind of reason to fight or something approaching it.

Looks like the Earth Federation is turning into Titans.

I noticed that, but I've not seen the first Extra Stage. Is this totally separate or should I see the first one first? I can't seem to find it right now.

I'd say you need to see the first stage dude as this continues the story. If you can't find it then PM me and I'll dig out the dvd copy I have and lend it to you.

Takumi........hmmmmmmmm

I've just discovered the awesomeness of xdccklipper + mIRC + #lurk. It makes leeching a large number of packs so much easier. I should really have looked into it much sooner. Tested it earlier today by queuing up about 100 packs and it worked a treat. Managed to grab all the JoJo manga up to volume 80 (aka volume 17 of Stone Ocean). Next up will probably be a number of other mangas like Hajime No Ippo and Berserk. It's particularly helpful for me now since I've been getting into more and more manga and the one thing that's annoyed me about getting stuff from #lurk has been queuing up the large amount of packs(anywhere from 30 -100 for a given series to bring you up to speed). Very useful if, like me, you use IRC as one of your primary leeching sources.

KondanshaLOL

They are "testing" a streaming service with an english subtitle option. However the video quality is shockingly bad, and the english subs don't overlay onto the video, but rather below it in a solid grey box

Heres an example - Full Metal panic ep1 (you really need to do it fullscreen)

And people were concerned about Crunchyrolls quality (without having seen it)
