Thats odd, it's been renamed (previously "Division"). The wait is irritating, I thought 3.0 and 4.0 were due next year, if it's taking 2 years per film, then the last 2 (due to be released at the same time) will be out in 2011-2013

Although given the original series is set in 2015, it wouldn't surprise me if it took that long :)

Just finished off Death Note. Very enjoyable for the most part despite featuring the most inept and ridiculous policing since Hong Kong Fooey.

Think I'll try Monster next.

I am downloading Monster next. Thats after i have downloaded DBZ remastered episodes :)

Did they up the animation to 24fps to get the entire series into 24 episodes?

I'll never forget the Furiza fight where they pretty much floated for half an hour talking each week, shouting "IMPOSSIBLE!!!", etc.

Scryed does DBZ much better than DBZ does DBZ.

Also: what's this I hear about a new Air Gear series being in development? I fucking love the manga (avatar related).

Anyone else caught the first episode of Gainax animated Shikibanehime? It was great.

S'aright. Interesting-ish premise but nothing screamed awesome at me. The fight near the end had a bit of gainax flair on it though which was nice.

So what's on the 'good list' so far?

Kannagi? and...

To Aru no Majutsu Index, Casshern Sins, G002, Toradora(although this is apparently suffering from JC staff syndrome), Ga-Rei Zero and (if you can handle it) Kuroshitsuji. Tales of the Abyss seems quite good but I have no idea how it is compared to the game.

Shikabane and Yozakura Quartet could be good but first eps haven't shown much. Akane Iro is a h-game translation which might be average enough and Hyakko might be a bearable slice of life but both are suffering a bad case of Hirano Aya not fitting the character.

Kurogane is unfortunately suffering from a bad case of "lolgonzo" which is a shame since the source material is quite decent.

Jeff's micro summary of everything subbed so far although it's all entirely down to personal taste...

Haha, cheers matey, I will try and give a few of them a go, but I may have to just stockpile things for now. I know I shouldn't really have asked if I can't act on it... but still, I can't resist the desire to know!

Oooh. Just read that this weeks Bleach was the last of the filler. Awesome. I oddly thought it would last longer though, there really isn't too much in the manga to go on... unfortunately this will mean DBZ style battles, maybe more filler too.

The good thing though, is that theres a pretty fucking ace history mini-arc coming up about captains of old in shinigami land. Was sweet in the Manga, for sure. I'd say that bit alone is likely to last 4-5 eps!

Not watched much else bar the usual soul eater / naruto recently. Gintama though amusing got old at around ep 13. Yaaawn same jokes, no ongoing plot, argh.

Jeff, what's Kuroshitsuji?
Near the end of the 19th century in England, during the Victorian Age, there is a butler named Sebastian, who works for a famous lord, Phantomhive. Sebastian is a man of perfection, and his knowledge, education, cooking, and martial arts abilities are excellent.

Today, as usual, wearing a black dress suit, he works elegantly for his 12-year-old pampered master, Ciel.

Imagine Hosaka as the butler but remove the most of the funny and add in some darker creepiness and that's the series. The reason I said it might not be to everyone's taste is it could be considered as being quite...camp I suppose. Zapp told me that apparently it won't head into creepy yaoi or Antique Bakery territory and it's more on the level of just semi-camp bishi-ness like in Ouran or Nabari.

GViper - Gintama's never really had a proper consistent plot for it although it does go into some more serious arcs on occasion. It's more just random idiocy on a weekly basis which is fairly nice. If you've got the hang of most of the characters though, you should definitely watch episode 25.

Watching the first episode of Gundam's second season was like watching a completely different show. I can't put my finger on it, it just flowed about a billion times better (and it's not as though I disliked the first season). And to think, I was convinced nothing would adequately fill the void Macross Frontier left.

Yay, I found a streaming site so I can check out all new stuff you recommended. :D I checked out Kuroshitsuji first as it seems to be getting quite the marketing push. I really liked it - the slightly creepy tone, the gothic aesthetic, the mystery. All good. :D The "comedy" was a little weak but the next episode looks like it'll be a bit more action orientated so I'm looking forward to it.

Oh, fuck. You bought Robotech Macross. Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck. Throw it away. NOW. Horrible bastardized american chop-shop job. THROW IT AWAY.

Then download a batch torrent of Macross. Just Macross. Robotech is BAD.

Then drown in the loveliness of early 80's anime, when cel animation was king.

Then BUY. Yes, BUY Macross Plus. It's quite simply one of the most incredible OVA/movies of all time, and I've watched it easily more than 70 times. No shit - it's that good.

Then DOWNLOAD Macross7. It'll never, ever be released in an English-speaky country, mainly because it's tied up in all sorts of legal bullshit.

Then buy Macross Zero, which is a prequel, and shows off some lovely CGI and bat-shit mental people.

Then we come to Frontier. Which is just fucking amazing.

I've decided to get into Macross. To minimize time spent and quality gained, I decided to torrent Macross DYRL instead of the full series. Good idea? Also, in terms of OVA/Movies/Original series, what should I do for the rest?
