Was an ok ep, wasn't quite expecting the end of it. (the end of the ep, not the series)

Man I hope GG put out a re-done release given the artifacting(?) on the one I was watching

Yeah, it was interesting! Can't wait for the end next week.

Looks like Gundam's starting at the same time as my 3-week holiday, so will be able to marathon it when I'm back :-)

I know this must've come up before, but I forgot, what's everyone looking out for from the new season?

I tend not to plan ahead with series, apart from the odd one here or there like the new Raoh Fotns series.

Most of the stuff I end up watching is because of this thread banging on about it.

oh and GRRRR!!! DMC ep 5 is rife with 'artifacting' :ph34r:

This may also explain the problem with the new Macross ep.

Oh man, I've been watching Gurren Lagann again this weekend. It's just so fucking amazing! I remember bss releasing HD subs at the time, but weren't they just awful upscales? If it actually was shown in HD, I'd love it if it got a blu-ray release.

Anyway, I have a question about the parallel works - is there anywhere I can watch them on the interweb that isn't youtube? I followed the links to the GL movie site, but I can only find the latest PW... Youtube quality is so meh, and the torrents are all in icky wmv format. bleh.

Nah, it debuted in 1999 I think.

There's always the (continually excellent) manga if you don't like the kid-friendly tone of the show. ;)

No. Sounds like you've got the HK bootlegs. They're terrible. Search this thread to find recommendations for subs..

I think will have to download Gintama next, i am almost done with down loading Fist of the North Star.

I'm glad I got someone else hooked onto this. I didn't think they anime could do it justice but it really adds some amazing polish to the series. The sheer stupidity is brilliant.

Oh and for JohnC and anyone else that might be watching it, Natsume Yuujinchou got a second series for January.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to read the manga now. :(

Just watched Rebuild of Evangelion 1.01 and I'm not really sure what to think, the pacing is obviously much quicker, which I thought would benefit the series when I first watched it, but seeing it implemented, it feels like a lot is missing. I don't think much of the mehca redesigns - unit-01 looks a bit too sleek now because of the new chest plates, although I have to admit, his glow in the dark paint job is quite cool. And is it me or do the angels all look a bit more rounded and less intimidating?

After recently watching Gurren Lagann again it really hit home, I forgot how damn annoying Shinji can be - his VA is brilliant at playing a petulant teen!

But what did you think of the noticably changed sequences

such as the completely different reveal on lilith, which iirc was based on the manga version and much sooner I believe and Tabris*' new reveal

. Theres a good deal of rumours/speculation about how the rest of the "rebuild timeline" will pan out. personally I'm hoping to see Asuka's introduction handled more like the manga version, the quicker pacing suggests it might as it would probably allow them to compress that episode into about 8minutes at the most.

*because I can't remember how to spell his proper name

I can't really remember how that sequence went in the original, tbh. Although... was it

Gendou instead of Misato who shows Lilith to Shinji?
